The most impressive stand is the John Smiths Stand, which was only built in the mid 80's. This stand is much higher that the remaining three stands, offering excellent views of the North Sea. This does impact on the atmosphere though, as most songs pass straight over the remaining three stands! The rest of the ground is rather dated, and the club is well aware of the need to re-develop. They have recently applied for planning permission to built a new 15,000 all seater stadium on the edge of town, on the M180, and are o bviously reluctant to spend vast amounts of money upgrading Blundell Park.
