'After staying in two substandard inns in Scotland (at 60 and 75 GBP), I thought a decent room under 60 GBP was impossible to find. The Glen proves it is not.'

'Both my husband and I had a most enjoyable stay at your hotel. We found evening food menu was very varied and breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked. Room was clean with plenty of drawer space and very comfortable. Only one very small thing no shelf in bathroom for toletries. Will defenatly be back to stay and will be recomending your hotel. Thanks again for an enjoyable stay. Mrs Irene Finlayson'

'Between Inverness and Edinburgh, if you search a stop in a little village. Do you not hesitat ! Go to the Glen hotel in Newtonmore. It's not a 5 star hotel, but the room was big and clean, the King size bed was very confortable and the staff was very kind. Take also the time to walk to the "Loch na Leoaba", it's so pretty. The food's pub and the breakfast are both very good.'

'A warm bedroom was very welcome after a cold day's walking. After freshening up, we went down to the bar for a drink and a meal. The beer was very well kept, and the food was also of high quality, served by attentive staff. The following morning, a fine breakfast was served, we particularly enjoyed the good, strong tea, to set us up for the day. This is clearly a good place to stay on the East Highland Way, and for a future visit to Speyside and nearby attractions, such as the Highland Folk Museum.'

'Stayed two nights in April, as a base for the Newtonmore Wildcat Trail. Comfortable, clean, with helpful friendly staff. Evening meals in the attractive bar were very good and reasonably priced. Inclusive breakfast is customised to your exact requirements. Only minor niggle was the MTV/4Music in the bar and Moray Firth Radio in the dining room.'

'There's quite a choice of hotels in the area but a quick look on the internet cut the list down to the Glen, partly because we're vegetarian and they are the only Hotel in the area that caters for vegetarians! Very welcoming on arrival and lovely room - no disturbance ven though it was a very busy weekend for the village. Food was excellent - very good breakfast and dinner for a family group was well received by all. To sum up we are booking in to the Glen again towards the end of the season - wouldn't consider anywhere else!'

'Hotel room was spotlessly clean. Massive bed and really fluffy towels. The quality of the bar food was superb and excellent value with two courses for two with a bottle of wine only £25. Added to this The Glen Hotel is recognized for its quality real ale. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing weekend. We will definitely return.'

'I booked this hotel on line for a colleague and myself working in the area for 5 days. The website would only allow one booking despite showing vacancies on all days. I called the hotel and had no problem arranging a second room. I had a small room with a double bed and en suite toilet and shower which was most comfortable, the bed being very soft. Breakfast is served from 0730 weekdays and 0800 weekends. Breakfast and the service was excellent. In the evening my colleague and I always ate in the Glen Hotel due to the varied menu and excellent food giving us no reason to go elsewhere. Cost per night during the week in March was £40 for B&B, worth every penny. An excellent hotel with friendly staff and tremendous food.'

'The public areas in the Glen Hotel were clean and tidy and well cared for as was our room (room 8) which for us was a little small. We would definitely stay with you again if we could have a slighly larger room. We had an evening meal with guests on the first night which was excellent if not a little expensive for pub food. Breakfasts were cooked to order and was more than enough and good quality. My wife eats little breakfast and asked for a yoghurt which was on the menu but not available on the first morning. On the second morning she asked again and was told that it was not on the delivery(3663 were delivering at the time). There is a Co-op less than 100m away who I am sure sell yoghurts!! Otherwise a good value stay - pity about the yoghurts though. Trivial I know but easily remedied.'
