'An impressive building, well-preserved to enhance 'first impressions'. Room 17 was very clean and tidy, but the real delight was the quality of the evening meal. The AA rosettes are very well deserved, but there should be more rosettes for the staff, who were very friendly and efficient. One minor criticism ? Old folks do like to find a higher seat, and there were none in the main lounge apart from the window-ledge. The test question is - would we go there again ? The answer is - Yes please !'

'We had a wonderful time at Mortons House Hotel. We particularly enjoyed the food and the service, which was friendly. Having eaten at two Michelin starred restaurants the week previous, we felt that the food at Mortons House was actually equal to and better than we had eaten at the Michelin restaurants. Both the dinner and the breakfast were wonderful. I think that staff make or break a hotel and we found that most of the staff were upbeat, friendly and 'can do' people who appeared to love their occupations. Our room was comfortable and had a lovely outlook. We enjoyed the historic aspect of staying at Mortons House which is an Elizabethean period building.'

'We had eaten in the restaurant on a few occasions but this was the first time we had stayed - for 3 nights. The room was comfortable and of good size.
