'The Bronte Guest House is well located just of the A19 York to Thirsk road in a quiet residential area only 10 minuets walk from the York Minster and the city centre, It's in a great spot. Room - clean, excellent facilities, comfy bed, good linen. Wonderful breakfast - wide selection of food, well cooked & presented. Spotless. 'Stayed in the family room on the top floor with our two grandchildren - ideal room giving some privacy for both them and us, exactly as pictured and described on the website. Everywhere was very clean etc.and the breakfast excellent.Warm friendly welcome and consideration throughout our 4 nightstay.Very convenient for city centre.Most noticeable was the attention to detail with little extras such as make-up pads,facecloths,bathroom airfreshner and wine glasses and tumblers . 'We had a very nice welcome from the owner, even although we arrived earlier than expected, and he gave us a parking permit so we could leave the car in front of the house. Clean, spacious room, wi-fi, within 10 minutes walk of old York. And plenty of recommendations from the owner as to where to find the restaurants. Very nice breakfast. Overall a lovely place to stay in York.'

'The Bronte was great. Mick and Mandy are lovely hosts. The breakfast and breakfast service was excellent. BTW no cheap coffee here. We were served a whole cafetiere (bodum)of fine coffee to start things off. The only complaint I have is that the wifi didn't work. Reception was either low or very low wherever I tried in our room. And with such a weak signal, the browser couldn't get anything for me. It just strained and strained and strained. Finally shut it off. Tried many times over the two days we were there....never got a satisfactory connection. Otherwise The Bronte was a fine place to stay in York.'
