'Really enjoyed our one night stay at the Waterfront. We have family living in Anstruther and have eaten at the restaurant on several occasions - however this was our first stay in the accommodation. The room was lovely, very nicely furnished and well equipped with plenty of storage space. The little extra touches like bottled water, fresh flowers and nice toiletries really impressed us and we will definitely stay there again in the near future.'

'We had an enjoyable stay at the Waterfront which included an excellent menu with friendly staff. Minor points would be the yard drain leading tothe accomodation always seemed to be spilling onto yard. Hot plates to accompany very good food.Excellent value.'

'We stayed for 2 nights in may. Our room was fabulous, very spacious with tasteful interior. Comfortable large bed and lovely bathroom. Unfortunately, there were no racks for wet towels but this was just a minor inconvenience. The food in the restaurant was wonderful, a very high standard. We were so impressed that we have rebooked for 2 nights in July.'

'I went with my Husband and two friends to stay in the waterfront, we were all very impressed with the accommodation and staff, and liked all the extra touches including bottled water, and toiletries in the bathroom. We loved the kingsize beds, you don't ever see that anywhere else. I give it 5 out of 5 top marks and so well deserved.'

'We spent a night at The Waterfront on route to Aberdeen. We were tired and had travelled from the north of England that day. We were offered a beautiful room with all the facilities that could possibly be required in the utmost comfort. After a walk and some exploring of this delightful fishing town, we were thrilled to be able to dine in the excellent restaurant with such a wonderful variety of tasty fare, in particular the choice of fish. The same was true of breakfast. Cheerful and helpful staff or stay was a joy. Highly recommended, we will be back.'

'We had booked two single rooms and were moved to the waterfront appnt. - which was glorious. Amazing view over the harbour, a beautiful living/dining room and an excellent bathroom in addition to very comfortable bedrooms. A well cooked and ample breakfast served by friendly and efficient staff. We returned to the restaurant for lunch and were equally pleased. Having stayed before I would have been very happy with the single room accomodation booked but moving us to the appt. certainly gave me the incentive to think about staying there again some time with a larger group of friends. Excellent value'

'We thought the accommodation is of a really high standard as is the food. Our only (small) gripe is that when we arrived the member of staff on duty was perhaps less experienced and so didn't make us feel welcome or expected! However, all other staff were helpful, courteous and efficient. We would love to come back again. It is a great place to stay and good value for money as well.'

'We were recommended by friends to stay at the Waterfront - our friends had been and their daughter & husband had been so we knew it would be good but really it was a delightful stay. The welcome was so efficient and friendly, the room immaculate, the bed huge and comfortable, the tea/coffee/herbal teas/shortbread very welcome, the shampoo, hand cream etc perfect...our night was so comfortable and so quiet - not a sound to he heard...but the BREAKFAST was just delicious...creamy porridge with maple syrup I think...and then a full cooked breakfast with haggis, sausage etc...we'll be back for sure - already planning it! Thanks'

'This is very pleasant small hotel ideally placed in the centre of the town with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms which have been recently renovated and are to a high standard are off a small attractive courtyard behind the restaurant and are very quiet. Breakfast includes everything you could ask for. All in all a good place to stay and excellent value.'

'My husband and I had a fantastic weekend break at the waterfront. We enjoyed a free drink at sister hotel on arrival, then had a delicious meal in waterfront restaurant-staff were attentive and cheery and food fantastic. Breakfast had lots of choices which we savoured whilst we enjoyed the lovely view of the harbour and complimentary papers. A wee weekend treat we will definately return to.'

'Hi, I am Roman, photographer getting second high education in UK, I planned to get to Isle of may to shoot a project there. So before arriving to Anstruther I seeked for a place to stay... Originally my decision to stay at the Waterfront was sort of random, but after 2 nights there I reckon there will be no other place I'd stay while I'm in Fife! :) Food is delicious, rooms are brand new, stylish and attention to detail is clearly seen by the managers and staff. Thank you, guys - you made my project/holiday:) My Mum also says thanks to your team!'

'The Waterfront is a fantastic place to stay whether you are planning a holiday or just a few days away. It offers a premium service from the beautiful rooms to the welcoming resturant and staff. We stay regularly and the staff are so accomodating, rooms kept spotless with fresh flowers and bottled water. It's these little touches that make a difference. The food is exemplary although you be sure to book if you are staying, it quickly gets full and they regularly have to turn people away! We rate the fish as even better thean the "famous" fish bar down the street! On the accomdation side, the guests are mindful of the others so even when there are families about, it is still quiet and peaceful. well worth a stay'

'Our first impression was how fantastic the room was, a family room was allocated to us - the loft in the Bakehouse, which will comfortably accommodate a family of 5. The slight drawback was the tv reception, a bit flaky! We dined in the restaurant, which had a good varied menu, the tiger prawns caused a bit of a disappointment, but this was quickly dealt with and a generous gesture was made by the management. Overall, the location and quality of accommodation would mean a revisit is quite possible!'

'Our third visit in 2 years to the Waterfront this time, a long weekend( 4 nights). Why? Because of the consistent quality of the accomodation, food, staff and, of course, the natural beauty of the Kingdom. As usual, the weather in the East Neuk fooled us and was kind and gentle during our stay. A great bonus - although walking the coastal path who cares about the weather?! A couple of very slight niggles about our room ( room 9 - Bakehouse) - a single bedside light ( two would have been better for nighttime reading) and no towel rail which made it difficult to dry used towels as there was nowhere to put them. Neither of these tiny deficits would prevent us from staying with you again - and again!! Keep up the excellent standard. You make Scotland proud! Best wishes, Fraser & Anne'

'I stayed at the Waterforont for one night in March 2012. The staff were excellent and the room very clean and well equipped and very good value. Two negative points were; the heat of the room (radiators on all landings and in room were on full and the heat was unbearable - sure you could save yourselves a fortune by turning them down!), and the breakfast - I had poached smoked haddock with poached eggs. The eggs were very good but the haddock was bright yellow and in a lot of water. Cheers - on the whole very good though Ben Ross'

'This was our 2nd stay at the Waterfront and once again we thouroughly enjoyed our experience. Our room was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and with 5* extras in terms of toiletries & in-room refreshments, also we had an excellent large, flat screen TV which was way above expectations at the excellent rate we paid. As before, we also had dinner in the Inn and this was excellent quality and great value, I simply couldn't stay in Anstruther and not have the brilliant East Neuk Haddock & chips..!! As always, fresh and beautifully cooked, as was my wife's local steak pie. Finally, it is just impossible to stay in a better, friendly or more central location if you adore traditional Fishing Harbours.'

'I would recommend the accomodation in the waterfront , it was spacious, spotless , very comfortable and good value for money. . As it was November I particluarly appreciated a bath in the en suite , loads of hot water and even bubble bath. The radiator in the bathroom didnt seem to work , but to be fair as we were just staying one night, we did'nt draw it to the attention of the staff . (who were very pleasant and welcoming). The breakfast was good but we were a little disappointed in our dinner the night before , we had previously eaten in the Bank around the corner ( sister restuarant) and we expected about the same , it was'nt quite as good, but all said we enjoyed our stay and would definately stay again'

'My wife and I had stayed here for a few nights in July and were impressed by our experience. Three of us stayed ovenight this week and had dinner for seven adults in the Waterfront. In brief, at the end of the meal there were seven very satisfied diners - good food, very generous portions, well priced and excellent service. For the three of us who stayed overnight, breakfast lived up to expectations - fresh food, freshly cooked, served with courtesy and charm. The rooms are a little cramped.I would expect two chairs in a double room, but in reality it would be difficult to put any more furniture in either of the rooms my wife and I have stayed in. The heat in the single room taken by our son was, even with the window open all night, next to intolerable. But, the beds are very comfortable and the en suite facilities are impeccably clean: service is consistently good. I will certainly return and have recommended The Waterfront whenever acquaintances have been discussing places to stay and, or, eat.'
