'We booked on-line at The Lutwidge Arms on the last minute as we had been let down on a confirmed booking of twelve months standing elswhwere in the area. We arrived to be greated by Mike and we couldn't have had a warnmer welcome. Our room was clean bright airy and warm, the bathroom also. Our meal was excellent from freshly prepared local ingredients. We were initially worried by the range on the menu, usually spells trouble, but after three nights, eight meals, they were all of the same high standard. I cannot compliment Mike and Elena enough for what they have in achieved in accommodation, welcome and hospitality. I wiil certainly return.'

'We enjoyed staying at the Lutwidge Arms Hotel. The staff were very friendly & we were well looked after. The food was very good and well presented. It was the ideal spot for us as we wanted to see and walk Wastwater. The lake is well worth a visit. We found the coast had plenty of interest.'

'Friendly and helpful establishment, you were made to feel very welcome. Comfortable well presented and equipped bedroom. Breakfasts were more than enough. Good choice of evening meals available for either the bar or restaurant. We stayed 6 nights, spent the days walking nd were very pleased not to need to go out in the evenings in search of somewhere to eat.'

'Great place to avoid the crowds just on the edge of Eskdale with plenty of walks and pubs on your doorstep (as well as the bar in the hotel) and close to Muncaster Castle which kept us well occupied for the day with owls, herons, the castle itself and more. Great breakfast in a large, light airy room which is good for dinner too - with a garden just off so you can enjoy the sunshine (which we had a lot of) too. The bar has Black Sheep on draft and is well frequented by local people - always a good sign. The kids enjoyed he pool table (and dart board) too. We were well looked after throughout so it was an easy call to stay an extra night.'
