Wonderful Place to Stay
5 stars 5

'My huband and I were overwhelmed with the hospitality, surroundings, rooms and interior decoration and would would highly recommend a stay in this lovely little village. The hotel was so easy to find and not far from Bristol or Weston-super-mare. Will certainly visit again and recommend to friends.'

Home from Home but with better food!
4 stars 4

'A lovely stay, a home from home when visiting our daughter. Lovely rooms and bathrooms, friendly staff, brilliant food. BUT service at breakfast VERY slow - a new meaning to All Day Breakfast!'

'Hello, I enjoyed my stay at the S&C. Room was clean, comfortable, and complete (though compact), bar and garden were very nice, and the restaurant a pleasant surprise. Worth a revisit.'

A little gem in N Somerset
4 stars 4

'I was a bit dubious selecting The Ship @ Congresbury from the internet, but I need not have been. What a little gem. The pub has been tastefully modernised that gives a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a drink at the end of the day. The rooms have been well designed to a good standard to make a very pleasant and comfortable stay. The best was the restaurant. The food was fantastic. Well presented and great value. My sincere compliments to the chef. Overall the owner has invested alot of thought and hard work to make this pub /hotel into a place you can relax in and enjoy. It deserves the 4 star rating.'

What a welcome
4 stars 4

'Made very welcome. Lovely clean room, full of character and thoughtfully laid out. Evening meal cooked to high standard and very tasty! Complementary breakfast good. Whole hotel beautifully decorated and fashioned in a fusion of boutique but olde worldy too - creating a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Thank you. Tess and Mac Roberts'

Lovely Room
4 stars 4

'We stayed at the Ship & Castle overnnight the evening before our flight from Bristol Aiport early the next morning. The hotel is in a perfect location for this. We were greeted at the hotel by very friendly staff and showed to our room. Our room was the Boma Room which was furnished to a high standard, and greeted to music from the ipod playing quietly in the background. Our stay was on s Sunday night and the evening menu is reduced on a Sunday evening, being mainly carvery for the main course, but that suited us just fine. There were starters and desserts available too. We enjoyed our meal, but perhaps the portion sizes could have been a bit bigger. We opted to leave our car in the car park and get a taxi to the short drive to the airport as it is only about three miles away. Word of warning - don't! It is nothing to do with the hotel or your car not being safe, it is the cost of the taxi, it cost us £38.00 to do the round trip in the end. It would have been cheaper to have paid airport parking. Never mind lesson learned. Overall we could not fault the Ship & Castle or it's staff and would recommend anyone needing to stay overnight before a flight from Bristol to stay.'

'We have stayed at the Ship & Castle no less than six times and will undoubtedly return again as we have family and friends in the area. The staff are always friendly and cheerful and the rooms are clean, attractive and comfortable. The food is first class, too!'

Pleasant stay
4 stars 4

'Very friendly staff, good room. Meal was very good even if they did forget the walnuts in the Beetroot, feta and walnut salad. the free Continental breakfast was a little sparse, no croissants, just cereal, fruit and toast but again very friendly service. My only complaint was the amount of time you had to wait for service. they seemed a little short staffed but that's minor. I would return and also recommend to others.'
