'This was set in a beautiful part of the country, with many idylic walks and towns nearby. The accomadation was spotless and very well presented, it was very spacious for two. Richard (the owner) was possibly the most accomadating owner I have ever dealt with, he clearly loved his job and made you feel so welcome. The breakfast was superb, Richard catered for my dietary requirements without quibble or fault. My wife and I will definately stay here again when looking for a beautiful quiet retreat. Excellent!'

'More expensive than a typical B&B but this is no typical B&B!! The accommodation (really they are small apartments) was well designed and equipped and provided exactly what we needed for a relaxing weekend break. Richard was a wonderfully welcoming host (he cooks a mean breakfast too!) and the whole place has a lovely calming fun vibe. Highly recommended and look forward to going back next year.'

'Our stay at Penbontben was fantastic. We were greeted by Richard who immediately made us feel at home. Our suite was excellent with a comfortably furnished lounge and spacious bedroom with a huge bed and crisp clean linen. Richard recommended a local restaurant for dinner and even arranged for us to be taken there by taxi. It seemed as though nothing was too much trouble and he really was a perfect host. Breakfast was delicious and my husband enjoyed the Welsh speciality of cockles and laver bread. We will definitely return and highly recommend Penbontbren. Such a ptiy dinner is not available as I am sure it would be a real treat.'

'We have had the most relaxing holiday we have ever had staying at Penbontren. The facilities and the attention to detail in both the rooms are superb, definitely 5 star. We stayed 12 nights and wanted to stay more! Our hosts were exceptionally caring, considerate and very humorous. The breakfasts were scrumptious with every alternative you could wish and the quality of food and cooking beyond 5 star - all the ingredient were produced locally and their very own eggs make for a wonderful breakfast, with haddock or smoked salmon or cockles! 'We needn't have worried that our first jaunt down to West Wales would have brought us to a place any more perfect than Richard and Huw's haven that is Penbontbren. Delicious locally sourced food served up for a perfect, leisurely breakfast set us up for the day, if the weather lets you down as soon as we returned to our apartment our spirits were lifted.
