'A lovely venue, cosy and homely, yet with a generous helping of grandeur. Only 5 miles from Glastonbury (where I needed to be for a workshop) in a lovely quiet location. Sue, the owner, is also a great cook, friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.'

'as usual meare manor hotle staff greeted us as friends and not just a source of income! as usual the room was weel apointed (as they always are) warm and inviting, shower and corner bath was a welcom after a long day at work, and on the road,, brekafast was perfect. we will be back again in the near future, because its peacefull(even when busy) and it is so quiet! not at all like some of the hotels i have to stay in for my work! i would fully reccomend the hotel in every way! even down to requesting some ice for my can of coke, nothing is to much trouble for the staff. A++++'

'There were many plus points: ample parking, a charming building, cordial hostess, and a pleasant room. I particularly liked that the proprietor made available port and sherry in the room that I stayed in.'

'Hospitable, friendly, lovely breakfast baps, (didn't have full english as was going on a dawn birdwatching walk) maybe bit too warm at night, no window in room, french doors, but opened bathroom window to let some air in.'

'Very comfortable stay and excellent personal friendly service from Sue Chapman. Part of the charm is the feeling of staying in an historic building, but extending this to the plumbing system is not the best idea - loo cistern very slow to fill and water very slow to flow hot.'

'I extended my stay at Meare Manor from one night to three nights. During my time travelling through England I stayed at three other hotels and Meare Manor beat the others hands down for value for money, comfort and the personal touch. I plan to stay there again the next time I am in the area.'

'We asked for a quiet room and we were given one. It was very clean and comfortable, we both had a good nights rest. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and obliging, nothing was too much trouble, they even provided me with a soothing balm for a painful shoulder injury sustained that day. "Thanks Meare Manor". We thought the sherry and port in the room was a very nice touch. If we have occasion to stay in this area again we will certainly stay at Meare Manor'

'We only stayed one night. However the welcome was friendly and Sue was very helpful. The room and bathroom were extremely comfortable and well equipped. The building and the immediate area were of great historic interest. I hope we get a chance to stay there again.'

'Recommended by an RSPB official, Meare Manor is ideally situated to access Ashcott Corner car park and Ham Wall Nature Reserve where the starling murmuration was currently taking place. Our room was clean and spacious, the food o/k and the price reasonable. Will definitely stay there again as there is much to explore in the area'

'We have stayed at Meare Manor twice now with our 16 month old twins. The room where we stayed was large and beautifully decorated. We brought our own travel cots, although we could have borrowed them. We used the hotel's high chairs and Sue and her staff were very accommodating, cooking us food early in the evening to feed the little ones and letting me use the microwave at night and in the morning to warm up the milk. The hotel is beautiful, the lounge and bar very elegant, yet cozy. Little touches in the bedroom such as complimentary port and sherry, as well as tea, coffee and biscuits add that extra bit to make you feel extra special. We would quite like to come back without the children!!'

'We booked the hotel at really short notice and were very pleasantly surprised. The owner very kindly did some re-arranging of the rooms to allow us to have an adjoining room with our teenage daughter. The rooms were very comfortably furnished, with some nice little touches. Very good breakfast with plenty oof choice. Excellent location for Glastonbury, only 5 minutes or so by car.'

'Great location, in the midsts of the Avalon marshes and steeped in history, in peaceful surroundings only minutes from the liveliness of Glastonbury. Lovely rooms, and wonderfully helpful and friendly owner and staff who always have plenty of time to share their huge local knowledge and tips for all the best places to visit. And thank you for making my dog so welcome too!'

'Mother & daughter trip - not an option in this reviews categories.Nice place, bit dated but pleasant staff.Twin room, very compact - bedroom door hits one bed & bathroom door hits the other - paid more for this compact room than for a much larger twin room over in Taunton! Food good. Car park- not very clear where to park, long way to carry bags - only found out by reading room folder that you can park at the front to unload.'
