The hamper breakfast was perfect, very well thought out and unintrusive. The location could not have been better and we would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family.'

Extremely impressive
5 stars 5

'We were extremely impressed with the friendliness of everyone at the townhouse, especially Laura who went out of her way to resolve problems which had nothing to do with the place itself! For example posting my mobile home to me after I'd left it behind. The rooms are beautiful, tasteful and elegant, immaculately clean with gorgeously comfortable beds. The house is not too far up the hill and there is a fabulous walk down to the beach through the gardens just a few steps away. We all thought that the picnic hamper breakfast was fabulous; especially the cheese ,bacon and leek tarts. Will be returning for a longer stay.'

Summer Break
4 stars 4

'We chose 1 Lyme Townhouse as it looked a bit different from other places - not a hotel but more upmarket than the usual run of B&Bs. We were not disappointed! Friendly reception, cheap parking, (up the hill), nice rooms and a fabulous breakfast delivered to our room. In fact there was too much to eat and we ended up squirreling away the fruit in the fridge provided for later in the day. The beds and fittings were well appointed and comfortable. A few slight niggles, (and they are only slight if I am being picky), the bathroom had cheap lino which rather spoilt the effect of the rest of it and the duvet, while of top quality, was far too substantial and warm for the time of year resulting in an uncomfortable sleep at times. Overall though a great place with a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and one that we would use again if in the area.'

'We have just got back from a fantastic weekend staying at 1 Lyme Townhouse. The room was very large & we had a Kingsize bed with lovely clean smelling bedding. The breakfast hamper was a nice surprise, lots of choice & all very filling although perhaps not for the "Full English" person. My only problem (but it's my wife's) was the pillows....always a disappointment wherever we stay.'

What a treat!
4 stars 4

'Just spent two nights at 1 Lyme Townhouse while in Lyme Regis for a friend's wedding. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was roomy with a luxurious shower. The breakfast hampers are a real treat though. A knock on the door at 8.30 let me know that my personal hamper with yummy museli, fresh berries, and little tasy tarlets with juice and coffee was ready for me with my morning paper. It was hard to leave the room in the morning except for the fact that Lyme Regis is so full of fun things to do. The only slight issue is that it is quite noisy in high season with lots of cars passing by late at night and first thing in the morning, so bring your ear plugs. I will definitely be back though!'

'We had the suite on the ground floor and it is exceptionally well appointed. It's like staying in an urban boutique hotel in New York City. Really comfortable and a delight to hang around in. The couple that run it are a joy and really helpful in terms of Lyme information. We will definitely stay here again, we love lyme and now we love ! lyme Townhouse too.'

'My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at 1 Lyme Townhouse. We loved our room, the decor and especially the delicious breakfast hamper. 'We stayed in room 5. Lovely room, huge comfortable bed, crisp white linen. 'We just wanted to say how impressed we were with 1 Lyme Townhouse. The en-suite bathroom was as gorgeous as it was spotlessly clean and the bedroom made up for the bad weather that prevailed upon Lyme Regis this weekend. Town centre style!
4 stars 4

'1 Lyme Townhouse has a fantastic location at the top of Broad Street, close to all amenities. Our room was a good size and stylishly furnished, although the carpet was slightly marked and the wardrobe door had been damaged by the door closing mechanism nearby. The shower room was very clean, but the thermostatic valve on the shower was slightly temperamental. The Molton Brown toiletries were a nice touch, replenished on the second day, and there were ample towels provided. The bed was comfy and made up every day. The provision of a breakfast hamper meant there was no rush to get up for breakfast and its contents could be enjoyed in bed or at the table by the window. The proprietors made us feel welome and did a good job pointing us in the right direction for local restaurants, one of which was superb. I would have no hesitation in returning to this convenient B&B and would recommend it to others contemplating a trip to Lyme.'

'stayed at 1 lyme townhouse for two nights which was a very nice experience. The breakfast hamper is a excellent idea no getting up to get ready to go to breakfast. We had one of the smaller rooms due to being fully booked. When i go back again which i will i would have either a suite or one of the rooms which face away from the road as it was a little noisey as we slept with window open because it was warm. Air con may be an idea. Excellent position for walking distance to beach areas and bars and restaurants. Have already told a few people to try it.'

Pretty amazing!
5 stars 5

'We are almost too afraid to give the glowing report that we want to for this hotel in case it gets too popular and we are unable to get a booking in future! Ah well, here goes ... we had such a good stay at 1 Lyme Townhouse and have the best of things to say about this pretty hotel. The room we had was big and very clean with lovely Molton Brown soaps in the bathroom. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the best bit was having the breakfast hamper bought to our room on the Saturday morning with our choice of newspapers. The hamper consisted of fresh fruit and muesli, lovely little Danish pastries and scrummy home-made bacon and leek pies with cases made of toast rather than pastry. Very clever. All washed down with filter coffee, tea and fresh orange juice. It felt amazingly decadent and is the most relaxed we have ever felt in a hotel. Instead of having to rush to get showered and ready to sit in a room of strangers for breakfast, we could stay in bed for an hour or so with our papers. Very relaxing! Would we recommend this hotel to anybody? Yes ... and we already have to loads of people, and now you are reading this so we shall no chance of getting a room booked when we want one in future! Enjoy the experience. Annie & Steve Wheeler'

bank holiday weekend
4 stars 4

'Really lovely room and very comfortable bed. The soundproofing was not great in the house, we could hear the people in the room above walking across the room at length, ( causing the ceiling to shake!) and all of the telephone calss and chat from the office below. Breakfast in the hamper was fantastic and a very nice touch, but a mix up over the do not disturb sign meant we nearly went without breakfast on the second day. Maybe some clarity is needed about how to communicate whether breakfast is required. We thought we had to tell you if we didn't want it. When we put up the do not disturb sign we thought it meant 'do not come in and make up the room' but it was interpreted as 'dont knock on the door, we do not want breakfast'. A call rectified the misunderstanding however...'

The hosts were very friendly. The only downsides were no onsite parking, no interaction with other guests, and the duvet was too heavy for us. But over all areally enjoyable stay.'

1 Townhouse, Lyme Regis
4 stars 4

'We enjoyed our stay; the room was clean and the decor was great. It faced the main road but the window was double glazed so it was fairly quiet. The hamper style breakfast was better than expected, with good quality food. My wife and I would have prefered more pastries rather than the mushroom and cheese tartlets which neither of us fancied at that time in the morning. We also had to ask for ground coffee and fresh milk as normally the morning coffee would have consisted of the instant coffee sachets and long life milk that you get in any B&B. Overall we were very comfortable although we wouldn't go back.'
