'We used the Riverside as our base for a couple of days walking on the coast path and it turned out to be the ideal choice. 'Have stayed here possibly 8 or 9 times now over the last 12 years. Breakfasts are reliably excellent - varied and flexible menu - and are served up to a very civilised 10.30am (we aren't morning people). It's an old building right on the river and within a very short walk of the harbour and access to the cliff tops. Good pubs nearby - just a few seconds away. Old building does mean you have to put up with creaky floorboards in the rooms but if you can cope with that its a comfortable stay with great views.'

The room we had was very comfortable, warm and exceptionally clean. Big TV and factilities to make tea and coffee. The Guest House is in a central location in BOSCASTLE and parking is simple in the nearby car park. Breakfast is amongst the best you could have esepcially if you choose the fish course - choice of 3, salmon, kippers or smoked haddock. The full english is also very good Highly recommended if you want to stay in that part of Cornwall, plenty to do an see. 'My partner and I stayed at the Riverside over a weekend in early November. The village was very quiet and the Hotel only half full. We received a very warm welcome and was quickly shown to our room and given some local advice about where to eat and drink etc. The rooms are very nice, although could probably benefit from modernisation. The river is quite noisy although not intrusive. The restaurant is clean, modern, the service is brilliant and the food excellent. The staff worked flat out to put a new floor in our ensuite that had flooded that morning, and true to his word, Ross had it completed by 5pm!! Amazing. 'My family and I have eaten at the Riverside many times in the past and were always impressed by the excellent food and service. After and equally excellent weekend stay at the hotel last year, my fiancee and I decided to have our wedding celebration in the hotel. We filled the hotel to capacity for 4 nights with our guests (from Germany and England) and had a wonderful wedding day celebration, where we enjoyed the delicious Riverside carvery or fish and chips! The Riverside staff were wonderful from start to finish and really went above and beyond the call of duty to make our special day perfect. Many of our wedding guests arrived at the hotel late in the night from Germany and were all greeted warmly and immediately made to feel welcome, despite the late hour! 'My husband and I have just returned from the Riverside at Boscastle where we have stayed many times before. The staff are the most welcoming and friendly ever encountered, especially Adam and Andy. The hotel is homely whilst contemporary and comfortable. We had a fabulous room that overlooked the harbour. 'We stayed for a couple of nights, midweek, and had a fabulous time. Boscastle is a beautiful village and there are plenty of interesting walks of varying length. We bought a couple of maps for short walks from the Visitors Centre, which were both informative and easy to follow. The Hotel itself was excellent. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was varied and excellent quality. All in all a fabulous few days away and would highly recommend.'

'We wanted a weekend in Cornwall so hunted around on the internet to find a likely place saw the Riverside and tried to book but it was full. Before hanging up and looking elsewhere I asked reception if they would call me if they had a cancellation (not really expecting to hear from them). A month or so later I had a call out of the blue from Ross at the Riverside asking If I was still looking as they had a cancellation, a price was agreed and the confirmation received via email, a few weeks later we left for Boscastle. Based on the price, our expectations were not very high although the reviews of the Riverside were pretty good. But not really good enough it turns out ! All of the staff were friendly cheerful and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. Our room was spotless comfortable and well appointed, with a view down to the river below. We eat out on the first night of our stay at the Cobweb Inn up the road, which was very good. The following morning we went down to breakfast and had a brilliant selection of foods offered all of which were prepared superbly. That night we ate in the restaurant and had an excellent meal including soup,Japanese Prawns, & Steak the service again being friendly & attentive. I really could not fault this brilliant little hotel and its staff not five stars but six Thank You'

'This was our fourth visit. Our room was clean, spacious, comfortable and with a lovely view looking down the valley towards the harbour and the sea. Dinner in the restaurant was truly excellent and the staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. We have stayed at many hotels on the North Cornish coast and, in terms of value for money, this is by far the best - another hotel we stay at regularly has better facilities for a rainy day but the room rate is more than three times as expensive as the Riverside's!'

'We were welcome at The Riverside from the moment the door opened when we arrived, until the moment we left a couple of days later. Checking in was the easiest we have ever encountered and we were shown to our room (Room 2) on the 1st floor which overlooked the river with views down towards the harbour. The room was well appointed with everything that you could possibly want. We took our evening meals at the hotel too. Service in the restaurant, as throughout the hotel, is marvellous. The menu is wide and caters for all tastes. The food itself is just excellent. Not a single scrap of food went back to the kitchen from our plates during our stay. Breakfast is of a high quality with a variety of cooked options available, and no wonder that it is award-winning. There are cereals, fruit juices and fish available for breakfast too. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay here, were treated well throughout our stay and have no hesitation is recommending it to others and will return in the future I am sure.'
