'Accommodation was very clean but the room needed decorating. It was very noisey in the evening as there was a 70th birthday party. also you were asked what time you required breakfast but when we went at the allocated time there was no table ready and no one approached us to explain the reasins.'

'Ideally located, clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Disappointed there are no evening meals but numerous excellent restaurants within easy walking distance, as is the Castle. Secure parking a major plus, provided you don't drive a Bentley!!'

Short Stay
4 stars 4

'We had a fantastic time at the Old Fourpenny Shop Hotel, for a start our room was at the back of the building opposite the car park, but this in no way was a problem, it was quiet, a large room with it's own bathroom and a very comfy bed, the breakfast was plentiful and the staff really helpful, there were a number of local beers on sale as well as the usual lagers and wines, the only downside, and this is a purely personal gripe is there was no WiFi connectivity in the rooms, only in the bar area, as I said, a personal gripe, even so I have no problem in recommending this hotel and will hopefully be going there again in the future.'

Great Hospitality
4 stars 4

'Thank you Sean for a lovely two nights. The room was fine. We both enjoyed the breakfasts. You are brilliantly placed for the town centre and you have a lovely pub with great ales and very friendly locals. We intend to return for the Edible Garden Show at Stoneleigh and will certainly book with you again for that. We can fully understand why you don't do food in the evenings, but we found The Vine Inn round the corner which has just re-opened have a really good chef that does good food and could modify his menu to take account of me being a Coeliac. Thanks once again and look forward to seeing you next year. Best Wishes, Geoff & Paula'

Nice Stay

'Very Nice simple hotel room. Water pressure a little low in the bath room, meaning the shower is just OK but the bath takes forever to fill! Nice Breakfast and very quiet rooms even directly above the bar. We would stay again.'

Nice staff, bit tired

'Stayed Saturday 10th December as it was close to the venue we were visiting. Was in main house above the pub. For £80 it was rather expensive when you think of the deals you can get elsewhere but staff were pleasant and there was a nice cooked breakfast included in the price'

AMAZING!
1 stars 1

'I find it quite amazing that I am being asked to review my stay at the Fourpenny Shop when I did not stay there as the room my wife and I were offered, having driven in terrible weather from Cornwall, was dreadful; no window, a double bed jammed into a corner so you could not access the bed from either side and a bathroom the size of a very small wardrobe. Your staff could not find me an alternative room, did not seem very bothered so we declined the room and left. I also remarked that we were listed for a single room when we had in fact booked a double and thus this seemed to be a quick fix to get 2 people into a single room. All round a dreadful experience.'

Enjoyable stay
3 stars 3

'stayed here for the weekend. Fab breakfast comfy room but stayed here as website said all rooms were newly refurbished. We were given a room in the main hotel on the top floor which is quite old fashioned and had certainly not been part of any recent refurb, However was clean enough and did as a basic base for our stay.'

'VERY friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast and service. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to have a key to get OUT of the room, thus if your roommate takes the key, you're stuck in the room!'

'A great hotel just a short walk from town. Excellent location for. both the castle and race course. Made us all feel welcome. The room was clean with plenty of space. My husband and daughter can highly recommend the English breakfast. Great bar with 6 real ales and a good choice of larger and wine & a great atmosphere. Will be staying again next time we visit.'

Nice & clean
3 stars 3

'A nice and clean hotel, breakfast was very good, really hot and freshly cooked and they lady serving it was lovely. We had a room at the top of the hotel which was nice, but there was no power in the shower and it was very hard to regulate. The bar has some really nice traditional Ales and it it was very close to all attractions, we would go back but not have a room at the top .'

Good location
4 stars 4

'We chose Warwick as a group of friends were travelling from Bristol, Stroud, London and Nottingham. The hotel suited our needs very well. It was friendly, extremely clean, comfortable apart from the VERY hard mattress in room 3 and served a good breakfast. We had a full English on the first morning but cereal and perfectly poached eggs on the 2nd. Breakfast service was wonderful. I heard people asking for veggie breakfasts which appeared to pose no problem whatsoever. The bar was comfortable, brightly lit and served several real ales. There is a small outdoor seating area by the carpark. It's just a few minutes walk from the old centre with many many restaurants, bars, tea shops etc. Definitely recommended except for the mattress in room 3'
