'Astley House is located pretty close to the city-centre and right opposite to Clifton green parish church.We stayed in the 3 bed (1 double plus one single) room on the second floor- the room was very neat with nice-looking upholstery giving a cozy feeling. Bathroom is small but very clean. The receptionist was warm and welcoming. Will recommend to friends and family.'

'Astley House was fine for what we wanted. We stayed in the four poster room which was rooomy with plenty of wardrobe space. The decor is basic but OK and if all you are needing is somewhere to rest your head as you will be out most of the day then it is ideal. Cheap and situated on a main route in to York centre. 15 mins leisurely walk or the number two bus will have you in the centre in four minutes!'

'Great value especially given location in York - I couldn't have found anything of similar price outside of youth hostel. I parked on the cobbles outside the church opposite and this is free to park here. Not sure where I'd have parked if there hadn't been space but expect that's a problem at most of these locations. Price reflects that it's more somewhere for a base rather than spending much time at but that suited me fine as prefer to spend less on place to sleep. And it still had all the essentials - comfy bed, clean room and bathroom. Optional towel hire is one pound.'
