As good as any in Holyhead
5 stars 5

'We regularly stay in Holyhead and found Monravon at least as good as any of the other B&Bs in town. The rooms are pleasantly furnished and comfortable. The continental breakfast suits us. Joan and John are excellent hosts and could not have been more helpful.'

Monravon to the rescue
4 stars 4

'Our morning ferry from Dublin was cancelled due to rough seas, so we arrived on the night ferry, getting in to Holyhead at 12.45am. We\'d booked Monravon online during the day. We phoned to say how late it would be and Joan waited up for us. She was so kind! It was such a relief and we slept deeply in very comfy room.'

'I was travelling with my two adult daughters and stayed at the Monraven at the last minute. The room was large enough for three adults, clean and cosy and the shower was fantastic. The hosts were lovely, friendly and very helpful. For a small family run B & B it was perfect.'

Continental breakfast was good and host prepared the toast and tea for us. 10/10 would stay again if i visit holyhead in the future.'

Comfortable stay
4 stars 4

'Have stayed here 3 times now, last summer for 3 nights driving around North Wales & twice recently, while staying at Ireland for a month, as this is in an excellent location, just 5 minutes drive from the ferry port. The hotel is comfortable & spotlessly clean. A continental breakfast is served between 7-9 every morning, there is a varied choice of cereals, toast, juices, (not fresh) croissants (not fresh), cold meat, fruit, sliced cheese, tea & coffee. You can have an option of ordering a cooked breakfast for the cost of £4, you need to give notice from the night before. The owner is very friendly & welcoming. We stayed in room 4, which was a little small & the shower room was tiny, I think it may have been a problem if we were bigger people. The small tv was unwatchable because of the bad signal. The hotel is 10 minutes walk away from the town centre, which has lots of shops, pubs & some eateries. We thought the town was a little bit scruffy, but ate in 2 excellent restaurants, an Indian & Mexican. We would stay in this hotel again & recommend it. It is currently up for sale, but as a going concern.'

'I do not normally write reviews, however the hosts at this B and B went out of their way to provide an excellent service so I thought I should reciprocate. I place is definitely spotless. We had an early morning ferry, the taxi was late and the host offered to drop us off. 4 minutes car ride to the ferry terminal. Thank you for an outstanding service!'

Very happy.

'Very pleased with this hotel. Very clean, John and Joan were very welcoming and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and clean, soft clean towels, hot shower, plus toiletries, what more could anyone ask. Continental breakfast, but plenty of choice. We needed to stay another night on our return from Ireland due to a cancelled ferry and when I rang john at the hotel even though he only had a family room left he still accommodated us. Thank you very much. Well worth a visit and only 10 mins from Irish ferries. WE WILL COME BACK........'

A base before the ferry
4 stars 4

'We found Monravon on the internet when seeking an overnight stop before a morning ferry passage to Dublin. The B&B proved easy to find when we got to Holyhead, had pleasant airy rooms - we stayed a second time on our way home - with a wecoming atmosphere. The breakfasts were good, too! There is a pleasant eatery, the Boathouse, a short walk away. Parking on site is limited but we were able, both times, to park in the layby in front of the school next door.'
