Strand Cottage B&B - Hexham - Description

Well appointed en suite accommodation in the heart of 'Hadrian's Wall Country'. Ideally situated for all major Roman sites. Across the road is the start of the North Pennines AONB. Hadrian's Wall and Housesteads are both 3 miles from here and Vindolanda just 2 miles. A pleasant all day walk takes in both these sites with a break for lunch at the pub halfway around.This is an ideal location from which to visit all the major Roman sites and Kielder, Beamish, Hexham with it's Abbey and old Gaol, Haltwhistle the centre of Britain, The A686 voted one of the most spectaular drives in England, the Lake District and many places of historical interest. Packed lunches can be provided on request but we do need 24hours notice. The pub in the village serves food Wednesday to Saturday evenings, and several more places to eat are close by. We have cycle storage and drying room. Our accommodation comprises of a large detached ensuite room with super king sized zip and link beds with memory foam mattresses, a comfortable couch and chair, fridge, colour TV/DVD player, clock radio and hot drinks tray and lovely large white bath sheets. Dogs are allowed in this room only by prior arrangement, and must be in a cage if left alone in the room. In the main house there is a double ensuite room with king size bed,with memory foam mattress, colour TV/ DVD player, hot drinks tray, hairdryer and lovely white bath sheets. Our third room is a single room with a double bed which has a memory foam mattress, comfortable chair, desk, hot drinks tray, hairdryer and radio alarm clock. Across the landing is the private shower room belonging to this room only. We provide lovely large white bath sheets and dressing gowns. These two rooms can be let jointly as a family suite as there is a locking door across the landing which separates them from the rest of the house. Our single room is ideal for volunteers at Vindolanda as they can spead out and relax after a hard days digging. Free WiFi for all.
