'The Rooms at Apple Pie and The Apple Pie Cafe cannot be faulted in any way. Great location, spotlessly clean, spacious, stylish and comfortable. Breakfast with 10% at Cafe next door, also dog-friendly. We will definately stay here again. All staff, rooms & cafe welcoming and helpful, Off road parking in small forecourt to the front of the rooms. We had a downstairs double room (2 x adults + labrador)and also a twin room upstairs (2 x teens). It was a pleasure to stay here, it is rare to find such high quality rooms which will allow dogs. 'Excellent accommodation in the centre of Ambleside. Rooms are very clean, comfortable, and well equipped with ipod docking station, hot drink facilities etc. Great place to stay for a short break, with lots of restaurants close by and easy access to local walks. Parking is a bit of a free for all, but we always managed to get a space on site. Would highly recommend and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful!'

'We stayed in room 1 and had a fantastic 2 night stay with our small dog, the hotel has a couple of dog friendly rooms which are a great standard. The hotel is very clean and has a perfect location. Our stay was for a 40th birthday celebration and as a surprise the Apple Pie arranged for wine and chocolates to be left in the room along with a birthday card, a very nice touch. 'We were thrilled with our room in the attic, which was characterful and cosy. Fresh coffee and milk and complimentary gingerbread were much appreciated. At the introductory first season rate, this was a boutiquey bargain! Breakfasts at the Apple Pie were to die for. I happily gorged while enjoying the bright decor, wood burner and selection of newspapers. Ambleside was ideal for us as a young couple - jazz club, independent cinema, funky gift shops and veggie restaurants, and of course gorgeous walks. A short taxi ride from Windermere train station for those without cars. Despite the drizzle, this was the most romantic weekend break I've ever had. Now I crave one of their lovely bath buns...'

'The Apple Pie ticks all the boxes. It is centrally placed in The Lakes allowing easy access to all parts. Accommodation is in the centre of the village of Ambleside but is set back off the road and the rooms are cosy and quiet. We received a warm welcome and the staff were on hand to answer questions. The Apple pie cafe is next door and serves lovely home baked food. 'The Big One' breakfast is a great start to any fell walk.'
