'Hotels and B&Bs tend to be very expensive in Cornwall, especially in high season. Kings Arms in Lostwithiel is a great budget option. Good points: - Very reasonable price - Clean and comfortable room - Good breakfast - Free internet access - Central location close to restaurants - Owners are charming and very helpful to guide you in your tour of Cornwall Downsides: - Noisy due to single glazing window - No parking'

'We stayed at The King's Arms for 1 night and were very happy with both the room and service. The family room is spacious and clean, breakfast was great and plenty. Mattresses and pillows are new, could do with less noise from outside. The owners are very friendly and helpful.'

The King's Arms - Description

The Kings Arms is a characterful public house situated in the historic town of Lostwithiel. Serving great St Austell ales, with a real fire in the bar in the winter, and snug traditional seating the Kings Arms provides a relaxing place to enjoy a drink with friends. We have four comfortable en-suite bedrooms which have been quality assessed at a 4 star guest accommodation standard by Visit England. All rooms have been recently redecorated and have a home-from-home feel. With comfortable beds, flat-screen televisions, and tea trays you can be sure of a restful stay. Free off-road parking can be found nearby. The medieval town of Lostwithiel provides the perfect location for a short break with beautiful countryside on the doorstep, and plenty to do nearby. Antiques shops and regular fairs have made Lostwithiel the antiques capital of Cornwall and it is one of the most vibrant and lively communities in the county. Independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants as well as parks and riverside walks are all within walking distance. Restormel castle, only a 15 minute walk away is well worth a visit. Conveniently situated on the A390 and close to the railway station, it is ideally located for business trips or leisure breaks in Cornwall. The world renowned Eden Project, Lanhydrock House (the most popular National Trust property in the County) and quaint fishing ports at Fowey, Looe and Polperro are all less than 30 minutes away. We provide a home-made full Cornish breakfast for guests staying with us but otherwise we do not serve food. We're happy to make recommendations for local places to eat and to book tables in advance - always advisable as some of the best local establishments get booked up early.
