'We had a great time at the Longboat. A proper pub with helpful and friendly staff. I received alot of help from staff with my disability.they allowed me to bring my mobility scooter in the bar to recharge the battery every night. The food was good and the room was comfortable. We had an enjoyable 5 night stay and can recommend the Longboat to anyone travelling to Cornwall.'

Brilliant!
5 stars 5

'I received a really friendly welcome to The Longboat Inn - even though I was a little early for check-in they offered to hold my luggage while I went off exploring beautiful Penzance. The room was well equipped with everything I needed, it was very clean and quiet. They have great food at the bar, friendly locals and even a cinema at the back! I was the only sign-up for the film that night so the manager kindly let me choose another film to watch and gave me the whole cinema to myself! Excellent value for money, literally across the road from Penzance train station too. I would highly recommend this place to anyone :)'

3 stars 3

'We enjoyed the comfort of our stay at the Longboat Inn. The room was large and the facilities very good. It\'s location was also a bonus given its proximity to the train station and the harbour for the ferry to the Scilly Isles. Breakfast, which was good, was included in the price and the value for money was excellent.'

Great location, nice staff
4 stars 4

'The hotel was great for us being so near railway station, ferry and town. The staff are lovely, really helpful but I think sometimes a bit overworked, especially when only the chef and 1 person on at breakfast. Food is good most of the time and rooms comfy and well designed for practicality. Loved room 5 as its so quiet tucked at the back.'

Cordial service and clean accommodations
4 stars 4

'We had a quick trip to the Southwest of England. We arrived in Penzance late on a Sunday night and left fairly early the next day. The staff at The Longboat Inn extended themselves in kindness, provided information, and generally welcomed us to the town. We had a good night\'s rest, and thoroughly appreciated the convenient location. We were traveling by train, and we were totally pleased with the hotel\'s proximity to the town, train station, and bus stop. I highly recommend The Longboat Inn. It met our needs just as we had hoped! I made the reservation through Booking.com. The price was exactly what I anticipated and our reservation was what I had made (two rooms). With an early(!) morning trip to Land\'s End, and a delightful breakfast at the hotel there, we thoroughly enjoyed our time, and still made our train heading to Dover.'

Perfect in Penzance
5 stars 5

'Stayed at The Longboat for a short break over Easter. The location is great - straight off the train and into the inn. The staff are brilliant - the lovely manager Ryan and his team are all so friendly and willing to help in every way. We asked to change our room to one with a bath rather than just shower - Ryan straight away got on the computer and did some reorganisation. They helped with local information and even recommending other restaurants. The inclusive breakfast was brilliant value with lots of choice and beautifully cooked - perfect eggs! The Bus station was just opposite so perfect for getting around the area. The hotel has its own private cinema which is amazing and free too guests - as we were late eating they set up a little table for us so we could have our dessert while watching the film - how cool is that! There were lots of personal touches like this - the guests were treated as individuals and really cared for. The decor of the bar is quirky shabby chic meets old pub - it works. I would recommend this to anyone looking for good value decent accomodation as a base for exploring the area. I have already recommended it to friends and my sister is now planning to go in May. I would definitely go back if visiting Penzance again. Thank you very much Ryan and all your wonderful team for making us feel so welcome and well looked after.'

'I was looking for somewhere close to the station which offered B&B with the option of an evening meal. The Longboat Inn offered all of this at a very good price and they looked after by suitcase free of charge until I caught the train back the following day. I chose to eat there in the evening. This meal and the breakfast were both very good. Room was fine. All the staff were friendly and helpful.'

'Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. As it was a cold, bleak, rainy day, the inn provided a warm and cozy atmosphere. It was like a home away from home --a delicious evening meal, good beer and friendly locals to chat to, a warm, quiet, comfortable bedroom, a good, strong, hot shower and a tasty, substantial breakfast. A very convenient location beside the railway station. I\'d definitely stay there again -- even in winter!'

'I was booked into the Longboat for an evening before catching the boat to Scilly early next morning. My train from Sheffield to Penzance was delayed by 2 1/2 hours and I arrived rather fed up at about 9.00 p.m. The staff welcomed me, phoned the Newlyn restaurant, where I was booked for dinner to cancel, sorted food for me (even thought the kitchen was closing), and arranged a taxi to get me the Scillonian in the morning. A good evening after all and excellent home made vegetable sausage for breakfast. And a very good price'

'Excellent location near to everything important in Penzance. Friendly and very helpful staff. The bar is Sports orientated, showing live Football and Ryder cup golf during our visit and is well stocked and even has it\'s own branded real ale. The room was clean and comfortable, bathroom clean but a little bit compact. Our evening Steak meal was superb and being \"Steak night\" on a Saturday, was well priced and also included a drink each. The, included, breakfast was Buffet style so you could have as much or little as you wanted from a wide range of choices. The only drawback was noise at night, its excellent location on the High street has a downside and traffic and revellers from nearby clubs could clearly be heard through the single glazed sash windows.'

Cornish curiosity
3 stars 3

'Nestling twixt two nightclubs, the railway terminus and a busy traffic junction, the Longboat is ideally suited to the weary traveller wishing to enjoy the youthful exuberance of Penzance at 4am on a Sunday morning. Ryan is a very engaging host and we were well entertained by him and his staff, multi-widescreen football being the preferred choice. Rooms plain but comfortable with an adequate breakfast prior to walking over to the ferry for St.Mary\'s. Plumbing exciting and a useful alternative to an alarm clock for early risers. Stayed for a total of three nights, the second two out of curiosity. Points to note 1.there IS NO HOTEL CAR PARK - there are, however, several acres of car parking space immediately opposite, courtesy of Cornwall County Council. 2. When Ryan addresses you as \"my lover\" it is a Cornish term of endearment and not to be interpreted a form of sexual harassment! Great fun - give it a try for the experience!'
