'We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Thatch Cottage and found it very welcoming. The bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom facilities were good with plenty of towels and toiletries provided. The choice of breakfast and breakfast itself was very good. The only suggestion I would make is to provide a mirror in the 'Rose' bedroom that can be reached comfortably by all heights! Many thanks to the owners for an enjoyable stay. We will definitely be making a return visit.'

'Let me be honest from the outset - I am not a fan of guest houses - however this was one happy accident... I have done lots of travelling with my job all over the country and invariably rely on soulless chain motels /hotels etc until one day I couldn’t get a room because of the Southampton boat show. Just by luck, that hour, Thatch Cottage had a cancellation – so booked up there and then. To my huge surprise, the rooms were stunning and spotless and the amazing breakfast sets you up for the day. I know only use Thatch Cottage when I am staying in the Dorset area as I can guarantee a genuinely great night’s sleep and be ready for the next day refreshed and well fed. Also Denise and Andrew who own the place are brilliant hosts allowing you time to just relax with the minimum of fuss. My only problem is, now everyone knows about the best kept secret – hope I can get a place in the future!'

'We found the Thatch Cottage by accident but what a lucky find. The rooms were immaculately clean, breakfast was freshly cooked. It has wonderful gardens that you can sit out in and they also have a lovely pool area. If only the weather had been nicer when we were there. I can't praise this establishment enough and would recommend it to anyone looking for a base to use while visiting the local area.'
