Return Visit
5 stars 5

'Yet another wonderful visit. Extremely comfortable room with tea tray and kettle. Plus a hair dryer in draw and ample hanging space in wardrobe. Huge soft towels and array of shower gel, shampoo and lotions in the bathroom and a very handy sewing kit. Breakfasts were delicious with choices including fresh juices and fruits, cereals, yoghurt, Full English with a varied veggie alternative, toast and enough tea or coffee to float the new HMS Queen Elizabeth. Such a joy to stay here and made to feel welcome, almost like part of the family. From tea and cake on arrival until we drove away, Terry and Jane made our stay a wonderful experience. Edale House is beautifully situated within the village, just opposite the cricket ground and close to the friendly Woodman Pub and never far from the Forest. Terry and Jane can recommend walks etc and there is a large selection of information on places to visit. Plus, important for us, secure bike storage as we cycle the Forest trails. We will be back again. Would highly recommend Edale House to all.'

A most excellent and enjoyable stay
5 stars 5

'We have had two very comfortable stays at Edale House. Terry and Jane have created a very high class yet homely environment in which to stay. The rooms are spotlessly clean and every attention to detail paid in those finishing touches like the complementary sweets on the dressing table, very nice. The en-suites are both modern and flawless. The breakfasts are second to none, there is a good selection of cereals and juices as well as fresh fruit and yogurt. The cooked items on the menu are sumptuous also with porridge, full English and omelettes to name but a few being available. All cooked to perfection. Our stay was excellent value for money so we will definitely be returning when we are next in the area. No praise too high :-D'

'Edale House has all the little touches which make a big difference but without the scary price tag! REAL milk for your tea and coffee, a box of tissues in your room, an honesty bar, a visitors lounge. These things make it stand out from your average B&B. Plus charming hosts happy to give you a wealth of information about the local area.'

Wonderful weekend
5 stars 5

'What a fantastic little gem Edale House is, nestled on the edge of the Forest of Dean; this well run, comfortable and very welcoming B&B is the perfect base for exploring the treats of the forest. Spotlessly clean and comfortable, the rooms - whilst not “overlarge”, boast many of the features that a five star hotel would be proud of, down to the little bowl of ‘sweeties’ to boost sugar levels after a long cycle! – Terry and Jane are perfect hosts – nothing is too much trouble and the breakfast would win awards if such things existed – an enticing bowl of wonderfully fresh fruits, with thick yoghurt, followed by a cooked breakfast of local, thickly sliced bacon, tasty artisan sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, hash browns and a choice of eggs from the garden hens - all cooked freshly to order. With Jane’s home-made jams and preserves on hot toast to finish if you still have room! There is a choice of two local pubs serving good ales to eat at in the evening, both within easy walking distance. I would certainly recommend Edale and hope that I will get to stay again!'

'On a snowy weekend we had a great welcome upon arrival and a very comfortable room and en-suit. The village pub next door was very convivial and though we did not have a meal, the menu looked great.
