Lovely B&B in Hastings Old Town
5 stars 5

'This was our second stay at The Laindons and we weren\'t disappointed. Although the B&B has changed ownership since our first visit, it appears to be in good hands with new owners Karen and Malcolm. All of the rooms are beautifully decorated with a sort of nautical theme that certainly fits in Hastings Old Town. We were warmly welcomed and Karen\'s fabulous breakfast was worth the trip. We also had a very nice dinner at Latham\'s bistro in George Street, which is just short walk from The Laindons. Both highly recommended.'

'A wonderful stay at the Laindons. Thank you. The accommodation was first class. We loved the attention to detail - how the room was furnished and the little extras which made such a difference. The owners were so welcoming and hospitable and made the stay extra special. What a lovely couple. We wish you all the very best in your new venture. You were both fantastic. Thank you Tim & Suzy George'

A Haven of Tranquility
5 stars 5

'The Laindons is one of the loveliest places we\'ve stayed in for years. Tucked away from the hubbub of Hastings\' vibrant seafront, this elegant home from home b&b is more like a luxury hotel. Owner Sara has thought of everything - from welcome drinks on arrival to beautifully furnished and spacious rooms decorated in greys and blue that make for a thoroughly restful retreat. Home produce, locally sourced furnishings, elegant rooms - a perfect place to spend a night or two. It is close to a number of lovely places to eat and some fine music to be had at the nearby Jenny Lind.'

'My husband and I found The Laindons ideal for our short visit to Hastings. The location in the interesting Old Town is great, the bedrooms are comfortable and the welcome warm and generous. Best B&B ever

'From the delightful and most accommodating hostess Sara to the beautiful décor, comfort, cleanness, gorgeous period features, modern bathroom (on the small side - but the room was very large with high ceilings) to the surprised \'snack\' at the time of the aperitif and the delicious home made breakfast with the added superior quality coffee. And great location in the old town a short walk away from the beach and all the antique shops. The entire experience was flawless and beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend The Laindons. It beats all the overpriced hotels of Eastbourne, hands-down.'

A perfect start to 2016
5 stars 5

'A few days before New Year\'s Eve we decided on a whim to come to Hastings. We had been to the coffee shop at The Laindons before and decided to give the bnb a go. On the website the pictures looked lovely, but nothing could have prepared us for the absolutely stunning room we stayed in (room 3). Everything was immaculately clean and so thoughtfully presented, the design of the room was incredible. Sara was so friendly and helpful from the outset, providing us with water and milk on arrival and later that day, some snacks and a glass of bubbly for New Year\'s Eve. Breakfast the next morning was served in a gorgeous breakfast room with views towards the cliffs and over the rooftops of Hastings. The food was once again impeccable, with a breakfast starter and main included, as well as juice, tea and coffee, cereal and toast on offer. We then sat in the lounge next to a crackling fire to have more hot drinks and read some books from the excellent selection left out. We were so sad to leave and would love to return. Sara and Jon have created a place which feels like home, but also feels like an absolute treat.'

'Although we live local, we wanted a 2 night break in the lead up to Valentines Day. We were at the Stables Theatre Thursday night, which is a 3 minute walk away from the superbly placed Laindons. Our room was spot on. Very clean and well appointed with a fantastic view over the roof tops, right in the heart of the old town. There was a bath and shower in our room, which was handy as my partner has back issues, so she had a good soak after having been on her feet for a long time during the day. There were a few nice touches too. As well as a hair dryer, the room had excellent tea and coffee facilities, 2 wine glasses and cold fresh milk in a small thermos delivered at 4pm. Another great touch is the parking permit that covers from 4pm until 11am the day after. This is included in the price. The proprietors are friendly and made us feel very welcome and the breakfast excellent. A great place to stay always enhances time away. We loved it.'

'We booked this B&B after seeing a review on The Independent and were not disappointed. The Laindons is a stunning building inside and out and is located in a charming street in the Old Town of Hastings, close to wonderful restaurants bars and shops... but far enough away that they are not right outside the door. Our room was stunning and Sara and Jon have ensured that they have used top quality beds, bedding, pillows and towels as well as fantastic toiletries which were so lovely that Sara told us where we could buy them in town and we have the lovely hand cream to remind us of our stay! The breakfast room is lovely and the breakfast was outstanding. We sat enjoying amazing food and coffee looking over the rooftops of Hastings pondering a move to the coast and dreaming of owning a B&B just like this one day. We had a wonderful stay here and the icing on the cake was the wonderful and unobtrusive service. Thank you Sara and Jon. We wished we could have stayed longer and hope to return again soon.'
