'We had a terrible weekend visiting our friends. The weather was terrible and the trains a disaster. What made it all worth it and maid it a great weekend was due to our stay in the hotel. My wife and me have worked for more then 20 years in hotels and were very happy with everything . The room was very clean. They have opted for a big shower instead of a poky bath ( great choice) there were a lot of sachets of coffee and tea in the room ( normaly we have to share the decaf in other hotels) . The breakfast was fresh and tasty and it was a good choice opting for decent sausages and bacon and leaving out extra unnesesary bits like black pudding, hash browns and mushrooms . All in all I would give it 95 out of a hundred . Just 1 remark if you would change the curtains in room 3 for plain ones ( maybe the same colour as the nice red bed runner) it would just make it more contemporary and in keeping with all the furniture and modern bathroom and tv that's already there. In short if you want friendly quality at a great price go here and not one off the soleless chain hotels in the area'
