Stone Cottage - Description

180 year old cottage set on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne with a feeling of being in the countryside but only 10 minutes drive from the city centre. Stone Cottage is only 1/4 mile from Newcastle International Airport so perfectly placed for anyone using this mode of transport. To the west and only 1 mile away is the village of Ponteland, one of the most affluent and picturesque places in the north east. In the village you will find ancient churches pubs and inns along with excellent restaurants and the beautiful River Pont running through the middle and under the stone twin arched bridge. Hadrians wall is within easy access and every year we have people staying with us who choose to walk the lenghth of the wall. Stone Cottage has been our home since 1992 and in 1997 we started offering Bed and Breakfast, thus being our 13th year in business (2010). Last year we extended to give another two letting rooms and updated existing so all the rooms are now ensuite or have private bathroom. Thus we now have five bedrooms ranging from singles through to multiple occupancy, four are ensuite and the single has it`s own bathroom. The garden is large and very well kept. There is a wide variety of flowers plants and shrubs and in the spring and summer it is very colourful. There is ample secure parking in our driveway and the turning point makes it easy to manouvre when entering or exiting even when fully booked.
