'I have stayed at the Belhaven several times, as it is very convenient for the University and the restaurants and bars in the West End. Rooms are clean, rooms rates compare vwry well with other hotels, the welcome is good, staff are polite and a good breakfast is cooked to order. The only drawback, especially if you have heavy luggage and a room on the top floor, is the lack of a lift. I will certytainly use this hotel in the future.'

'I slept like a log and your breakfast set me up in fine fettle for my long drive home. Sorry my "tiny hand" found the shower ON/OFF so difficult to turn it ON/OFF but the pleasure of my shower made up for it! I hope to return for another night for more ancester hunting when my son is with you next term. All the best Diana Gair'

'The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The staff were most friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were excellent. Ideally situated for our weekend stay and not too far away from the city centre. Can thoroughly recommend.'

'I think the hotel is very nice. Although it would have been nice to let me know the change of time regarding breakfast. There was no breakfast yesterday morning. Apparent it was served till 09.00. it will good to let visitors know well in advance so that they can arrange their activities to suit this. Thanks'

'Stayed here again (visit no: 20+ over ten years or so), and very happy with facilities. The Belhaven has always offered comfortable accommodation, spacious rooms, and an ideal location for Glasgow's West End. A combination that can't be beaten.'

'When we arrived to the Belhaven Hotel we did not know what to expect. It was the very first time we were in Glasgow. But, let me tell you that being in this hotel, was almost like being in home. The staff is really friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. We definitly recommend it.'

'Hotel did not have note of our booking when we phoned to enquire about check in times. However, gentleman on desk said it would be not problem as he could accomodate. Well you did indeed. We were allocated a huge room to the front of the building, I think it was possibly a family room. Double bed and two singles. Bed very comfortable and linen spotlessley clean. The only down side was the shower. It was hand held, could have been corrected with a small hook to hold shower and larger shower screen. We were very careful but floor ended up really wet - but we did dry it off. Other than that the service was excellent from arrival till we left. Breakfast was amazing. Freshly cooked to order and plenty of choice.'

'This hotel is ideally placed for anyone driving into glasgow as it is directly off the M8 along Great Western Road. The unusual, quirky shops and deli's on Byers Road nearby and the restuarants on Ashton Lane are excellent for visitors with great atmosphere. Hotel itself is fantastic value, comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast with varied choices in the morning. I love the fact this hotel is family run and not part of a chain offering a friendly, homely experience.'

'Stayed friday night for an evening out in the west end as the hotel is a short walk from Byres Road. If your doing something similar then you should consider this hotel. We had a large room to the rear, perfectly quiet. If you want to look hard enough for faults you can find them but it was everything you'd expect and want from a three star hotel and for the price. Breakfast was particularly good with friendly helpful staff. Parking is on the street but it's very queit. We would happily use this hotel again.'

'Chose this hotel because of the location being only 5 minutes walk from Byres Road in Glasgow's West End with all the amenities and transport links that you could possibly need. A bonus was to find free on street parking outside the hotel. We were given a spacious double room. The only real downside to this was that it was on the 3rd floor, up 3 flights of stairs and only had a roof window, so no views. Breakfast was of a good quality and made to order. Overall good value for money.'

'I have nothing but praise for the Belhaven. It is a lovely building in a very convenient and safe spot. The rooms are very good (I was upgraded to a double at the front of the hotel as they were quiet), the service polite and attentive and breakfast hearty with a wide choice. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone seeking good value and comfortable accommodation near Glasgow West End.'

'Nearly got given a smoking room but the person checking in at the same time said he would prefer one so we gor the room that had obviously been set aside for him - why hadn't there one been set aside for us. Got locked out of our room and took 3 attepmts to get us in. Food was excellent as was standard or room. Problem with door was dealt with quickly.'

'I like the atmosfere, the personnel is very friendly. I know only the family room, because for the first time I was with my son who visited the open days at the University of Glasgow - the second time, only that was left. I was very pleased with it, I felt like home. Good location also with respect to the university. (I would like to tick all the stars in the rating, but my computer refuses...)'
