'I am pleased to say our stay at Brooks Guesthouse was a great one!!! We were warmly welcomed by the receptionist who was very friendly - we travelled by car from London and were supplied with a parking permit for our stay (at a cost of £6 - I dont know if this is cheap or expensive, although being from London it seemed very reasonable) I did notice some of the other guest houses had free parking, but wasnt deterred. I was very sceptical upon booking online, as I always am with hotels that they just put the good rooms up in the pictures, however we were delighted with the room. Decorated to a high standard, warm and spacious with a lovely bathroom. However the advertised King size bed, was just two singles pushed together with a matress topper - so you could feel the divide - none the less, amazingly comfy and excellent pillows, we had a lovely nights sleep. The 'honesty' bar was well stocked, with a good variey of beverages. After a fantastic sleep, breakfast was the perfect start to our day. A good selection of breakfasts to suit, with juices, cereals, toast and an array of cooked breakfasts, delicious!!! The guest living room is also very homely and well furnished. Would definitely recommend this guest house to anyone visiting bath. Also i thought the price including breakfast was fantastic!!! Many thanks!!!!'

'Before Christmas every year, my husband and I enjoy a city break away and this year we decided upon Bath. We looked on line at the various hotels and guest houses that were available and decided to book Brooks. It looked central and very good value for money, we were not disappointed! Upon arrival we parked in the nearby car park and checked into our beautiful room, the whole hotel is modern and nicely decorated. Bath centre is approx. a 5 minute walk from the hotel, which meant we could nip back to our room regularly. The lounge in the hotel had a lovely Christmas tree and was very comfortable. The breakfast was gorgeous, lots of choice and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The service was very much a 5* hotel service without the 5* price! We will definitely return!! After reading some negative reviews on tripadvisor i was slightly worried but DON'T BE! I think tripadvisor has some dramatic drama queens who should book the 4seasons if they expect miracles! Lovely room, so spacious and so comfy - i didn't want to wake up! Yummy breakfast with plenty of options and although not used the honesty bar is a nice touch. 'We had our son who is studying in London with us, he's 18, and we got the family room which gave us plenty of space. The location is convenient to the city tour bus so if you arrive by train get the pass and you can take the bus to the hotel, drop your bags and use the pass for two days. Easy 15 minute walk to downtown as well as great restaurants close by. We ate at the Circus - great, and Brasserie Benal - very good. The hotel breakfast is superb and the staff is very helpful. 'A rather luxurious guest house. Right down to the luxury feather duvets except that two out of three of us are allergic to feathers! We arrived late evening and the very helpful receptionist found us some polyester pillows but it didnt occur to me to check about feathers at the time of booking! We were made most welcome. 'It's the classic English guesthouse. Comfortably sized rooms with pretty decorations throughout the bulding. The living room is cosy with many games & magazines to entertain you. Needless to say, breakfast served is also yummy.... The staff is also very generous with various suggestions of dinner places, he even knows that one of it will not be available that night due to private function. Truly memorable stay & will definitely recommend it to my friends.'

'Our room was beautiful looking, but it did have a bit of a funny smell. Perhaps because it was an old house. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The staff did play very loud rock music in the breakfast room which we thought was bizarre for first thing in the morning and one of the waiters wore a sleeveless top one morning which was also a bit off putting. The location was perfect and it took very little time to walk into the centre of Bath. The fire alarm went off on the Sunday morning at 7.30 a.m! We were awake anyway but I'm sure this was annoying for many of the guests. Overall, a good guesthouse and we would definitely stay again and / or recommend to others who are visiting Bath.'
