Can\'t Recommend Enough
5 stars 5

'The Manor Guest House is fantastic value for money, the room had everything we needed with wonderfully comfortable beds, the shared outside space is beautiful and the breakfast choices were vast and high quality, yet the thing we\'ll remember most about staying here are the host. The owners are friendly and welcoming yet unintrusive and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend staying here.'

Great nights sleep
4 stars 4

'The Manor\'s hosts were very friendly and welcoming, giving us great impressions from the moment we stepped in the door. Our room was ample big enough, beds very comfortable and lovely view from our room into the gardens. TV signal was a little hit and miss but this is only a small issue in my eyes - we didn\'t spend much time watching TV. Ensuite was only a shower and not bath but again this was fine for us. Breakfast was delicious; no complaints at all. Would stay here again without a doubt. Thank you!'

Absolutely wonderful stay - Thank you!
5 stars 5

'My partner and I were coming up to Staffordshire for the fireworks at Alton Towers, and just for a general break away from the city. We chose The Manor based on several factors; it looked beautiful in the pictures (and truly is), the location (around 10 minutes driving to Alton Towers) and the inclusive breakfast (which was plentiful and of great quality!) To begin with, we arrived to be greeted by Peter at the front door who bid us a warm welcome which was a lovely touch; check in was smooth, and he recommended us plenty of places locally to eat and drink, and also gave us some great information regarding our weekend plans (including printing out some tickets for our following days activities!) We were shown to our room, and I was pleasantly surprised having booked the \'small\' double. Nothing small about it in my humble opinion, it\'s a lovely sized room, with plenty of space for the pair of us to spread out. Warm, cosy and comfortable - exactly what was needed! We were on the far side of the courtyard area, right by the pond, which was just beautiful and a fantastic view to wake up to each morning! For those that might need it, the wifi was good and strong. We met Ann the following morning, a lovely lady by all accounts. A fantastically warm welcome, and a real character. We felt right at home! The breakfast was plentiful, I chose the traditional English breakfast and was not disappointed. My partner tried the eggs benedict (which he said was good, but just a small heads up - he said the eggs were slightly vinegary. Not a gripe, just an observation!) He also had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, which he was more than contented with. The buffet items were well stocked and again, more than satisfactory. Add to this the beautiful view of the courtyard and it all makes for a really rather wonderful way to take breakfast! Overall, we were more than satisfied with our stay here, and will most certainly be returning next year. Many thanks to the impeccable'

'Really enjoyed our stay at The Manor Guest House. Lovely settings with a beautiful garden right out side our apartment, which was an annex attached to the main building. After traveling from Scotland we found the place easily and drove right into car park. We had a warm welcome from the owners and were given a few suggestions about where we can go for food and drink. However if you fancied exploring this lovely village a little more you would be happy to walk around, taking in the quaintness off the surrounding village. Very accessible to Alton Towers and enjoyable stay. The owners even let my children feed the impressive carp situated in the garden. The were overjoyed. Would definitely recommend.'

Our double aspect room was well equipped and comfortable, the owners were helpful and attentive, breakfast was plentiful. Great hotel
5 stars 5

'My wife and I stayed here whilst attending a wedding. What a great choice. We didn\'t arrive until 12:30am but the owner was very accommodating, making special arrangements for us. The room was spacious and clean. The garden is very pretty with an ornamental fish pond and manicured lawns. Lots of. At parking space. The staff were very friendly and polite. The breakfast was great - much better than a continental style breakfast you get at many places. The owner clearly goes to a lot of effort and it showed. No hesitation about booking there again.'

Wonderful Place, Friendly Staff & Amazing Breakfast!
5 stars 5

'When we arrived we were greated by Peter who was very welcoming and friendly. He was very funny and we shared some banter and jokes. He was especially lovely with my autistic son who was very interested in the bowl of fudge on the reception desk! We were shown to a lovely family room that was spotless and had everything you could need. Peter then gave us some great advice about eating out and this was a 2 minute walk up the road and very reasonable. The grounds were beautiful with lovely garden furniture to sit on. We had the best guest house breakfast you could ever wish for served by friendly and accomodating staff. The eggs benedict were the best I have eaten. Peter then took all the children into the garden with little pots to feed the koi carp from the bridge over the pond which my son thoroughly enjoyed. Peter and Ann are lovely people, their guest house is perfect and we will definitely visit again.'

'We stayed at the Manor Guest House for one night as we were visiting Alton Towers Theme Park with friends. The accommodation suited us very well. The bedrooms and bathroom room were a good size. The kitchen lacked cooking utensils and facilities. We should have taken our camping cooking gear. Breakfast the following morning was amazing!! There was a large selection on the buffet table of cereals, pancakes, juices etc. The choices available for the cooked breakfast was second to none. I would definitely recommend staying at the Manor Guest House.'

Handy for Alton Towers
4 stars 4

'At least 3rd visit here for trip to Alton Towers. Same room and nothing seemed to have changed which is fine as it does everything it needs to. Biggest problem was a smokers wall right outside that meant the room was constantly subject to large doses of smoke through the open window which needed to be open due to the warm weather. Also meant the accompanying chat was also an irritant. Gorgeous garden so if the smokers could be put in a corner of it then problem solved. Eggs benedict breakfast really nice.'

A perfect stay in a real hotel

'Enjoyed our night at The Manor Guest House. The garden was a lovely welcoming sight, we received a warm friendly welcome at reception and our room was comfortable. Some places to eat within walking distance were recommended to us which worked out well. Breakfast in the morning was lovely, all freshly prepared and served to us. Reminded me how a real hotel should be and so glad we chose The Manor.'

Excellent B&B close to Alton Towers
5 stars 5

'We stayed here for two nights B&B whilst visiting Alton Towers Resort, which is about a 15min drive away. Staff were very helpful and polite. Choice of breakfast was great, could have cereals, fruit, pancakes, yogurts or choose from the full cooked English breakfast. At the time we went, we were advised that they were unable to provide dinners in the evening, but there is a Wetherspoon pub which is no more than a five minute walk away, which served great food. Room was lovely, spacious with a double and two singles, bathroom was spotless. Our room overlooked the lovely gardens which would have been nice to sit in if the weather had been warmer! Perfect place to stay away from the hustle of Alton Towers, would stay here again and definitely recommend it.'

'We stayed here in a family room for a couple of nights in order to go to Alton Towers. It was a short distance from the resort. The staff were very friendly and the owners made the effort to speak to all the guests during meals. Food was freshly prepared with breakfast being nicely done. The room we had looked out to the walled garden which was delightful and we forgot to ask who keeps the koi pond so clear. The room itself was clean and big enough for a couple of nights with children. The rooms were a bit dark but that\'s the nature of the building and age of the conversion. We thought this was good value compared to other options in the area when traveling as a family. We would stay here again.'

'We stayed at The Manor for two nights as we had planned a trip to Alton Towers. We were greeted with a warm welcome and found the setting beautiful. Peter made a real fuss of my daughters and they loved the walled garden and pond filled with fish. The room was spotlessly clean and we had everything we needed. The breakfasts were excellent, everything was freshly cooked and the staff that served us were very friendly, polite and efficient. I was very impressed with their customer services skills. We ate at The Manor one evening and again everything was freshly cooked. We had a lovely stay and would recommend The Manor to anybody else wishing to stay in this area. Excellent hotel and facllities
5 stars 5

'We spent two nights at The Manor Guest House in a family room with one double and two single beds. It was lovely to have a room with proper size single beds for the children (instead of them having to share a pull-out bed as in some hotels). The room was large and comfortable and extremely clean with a lovely en-suite. The gardens were large and well maintained with a pond with fish in which the children enjoyed. The staff were second to none and made us all feel at home. The breakfast was very nice and the evening meal was superb. I cannot find any fault with this hotel and I would recommend it to anyone, especially visitors to Alton Towers as it is only a short drive away.'

Birthday trip to Alton Towers
5 stars 5

'After staying at The Manor in February and having a lovely stay we decided to book an overnight stop with our own child plus 2 of his friends for his party at Alton Towers. Again we where warmly greeted and shown to The Stables. One word WOW. This building is like a large bungalow allowing the lads to be in a room at one end and us at the other. The cleanliness and services where excellent. The staff at breakfast where friendly and happy to assist (the lads wanted bacon sarnies which weren\'t on the menu but after asking was no problem and soon they where tucking in). Will definitely be staying again when in area.'

'We stayed at the Manor Guest House for 3 nights to visit Alton Towers and the Peak District. The location was ideal (only 15mins to Alton Towers). The hotel and rooms are clean and comfortable, and have everything you need - the welcome tray of tea and biscuits was well received after a long drive! All the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and always greeted us with a smile. A special thank you to Ann and Peter for organising a vegetarian main course for our evening meal in the restaurant. The food was great, and there are lots of delicious options for breakfast - perfect before a long walk in the countryside. The gardens are a beautiful addition, and I enjoyed having a room that overlooked the Koi pond. The only slight downside is that the walls are a little thin, which can be a problem if there are noisy guests next door. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Manor.'

Lovely Place
4 stars 4

'We stayed here as somewhere local while attending a family do so the location was perfect and very close to all of the shops if you need them. From the main building you take a walk across the (lovely) garden to the rooms. We were located on the upper floor of the residential building, the room was really clean and well designed with neutral colours. The only two things I\'d give as constructive feedback is that the pillows were a bit hard and high for our liking but obviously this is down to personal taste... we\'re quite used to sleeping with feather filled pillows that are a bit flatter, the other thing is that the floor boards in the corridor are very creaky so we were up very early with the sound of people walking passed our room. Not the end of the world, the general ambiance, peaceful surroundings and friendly team was enough to make the noisy floorboards less of an issue. :) The couple that own The Manor are very friendly and helpful and have done really well with the place. Breakfast was delish! There was a selection of juice, cereals and spreads etc for you to help yourself to and from the breakfast menu I had the eggs benedict and my other half had the full english - didn\'t even touch sides! I\'d definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area!'

Fantastic Weekend
5 stars 5

'We stayed for 1 night at the Manor Hotel as a base for visiting Alton Towers water park and theme park. It was my grandaughters 16th birthday weekend and as a family of 8 we were all able to stay together in the Barn at the side of the hotel. This was ideal for us and the Barn is lovely. Spotlessly clean, fresh towels, toiletries and light refreshments. Peter made us feel really welcome and we had a lovely breakfast provided in the main hotel. Could not have had a better base for our stay 15 mins to alton towers and first class accomodation. Would certainly stay there again and highly recommend.'

beautiful place to stay
5 stars 5

'My fiancé and I stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Alton Towers. The beds were very comfortable and the room was always very well looked after and cleaned every day. The manor hosts beautiful gardens and fish ponds which are lovely to walk around. The Gentleman and Lady of the house are extremely friendly and delightful to talk to, very attentive to each guest. They also gave us our own key so we could come in at late hours, and breakfasts were very good. Overall I would recommend The Manor Guest House to anyone who wishes to stay in the area.'

my stay at the manor
5 stars 5

'I booked a weekend to Alton towers for my partner for his birthday and decided to stay at the manor, we were welcomed by Joshua who was very helpful and lovely which immediately made us feel welcomed, he showed us all the way to our room (which many hotels don\'t do anymore) which was also beautifully decorated with banners and balloons as well as a cake and bottle of wine for my partners birthday which made it very special indeed as it was clear how much effort had been made (which was immensely appreciated). Joshua was also very helpful when we asked where was good to go for dinner, as well as Peter booking us a table and pointing us in the right direction to the restaurant and telling us were would be good to have a drink after the meal. The manor itself is very warming with a stunning garden and the rooms themselves are very cosy and nicely decorated. I was impressed the most with how quick the heating came on and how you didn\'t have to run the taps for very long until the hot water kicked in! The breakfast was your standard English fry up which is paramount before a day at Alton Towers (which is only 15 minutes away). I highly recommend this manor and will definitely be coming back here for my next stay, it\'s a beautiful traditional manor with incredibly friendly and helpful staff! Thank you so much for everything!'

1nt stay for Alton Towers
4 stars 4

'We found this great guest house through booking.com. Only 5 mikes from Alton Towers which is fantastic. We paid £118 for a family room (4 adults) which came with 1 double bed and 2 singles. We were in room 5 in the building on site. The look of the hotel was fantastic it's so pretty and the staff were all polite and professional looking you would have thought it was a hotel. The room was modern and spacious for 4 adults, plenty of amenities like hair dryer and tea making facilities. My boyfriend would have preferred proper tea bags instead of Nescafé packets, the rest of us didn't drink tea so didn't care. The room was clean enough, the bathroom was ok but the floors could have been doing with a deep clean. You can hear people walking above and people talking in next door, this didn't bother us but it might some people. Beds were comfortable and two pillows each. Breakfast the next morning was great, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts and fried breakfast made to order. Plenty of parking at front and back of buildings. The garden is beautiful. It has a pond which fish and a bridge as well as lots of gardens tables, chairs and umbrellas. We didn't have dinner here but walked about 1 minute to a Weatherspoons. We didn't use the bar service so can't comment on that. Th wifi is ok in the room we had. There is a repeater in every room but the main router is in the main building which gets turned off about 10pm. This was just as we were getting back from dinner and it didn't come back on again till about 7am. This would be the only thing that would have made our stay better. However we were only there for 1 night to go to alton towers so not too big an issue. If we were staying for longer then it might have been a sticking point. Overall I would stay here again and I would recommend it to a friend.'

1 night stop at Stables
4 stars 4

'Stayed at The Stables block with my husband and 4 teenagers as an overnight stop whilst we went to Alton Towers for 2 days. Stables was beautifully presented, clean and well equipped! Breakfast was lovely. We ate out at the Indian restaurant on the high st (3 mon walk). This was lovely and a bonus as you take yr own alcohol (bargain booze next door) so very cheap!! Only negative I would give block is that there is only one bathroom. For the number of guests, this is a problem! Another toilet would make it perfect!! Definitely recommended place to stay though 😃'

Simply The Best
5 stars 5

'Friendly, welcoming, charming, and beautiful Guest House will always be a place to stay, whether you are going to Alton Towers or anywhere close to Stoke on Trent. The room had a spectacular view into the garden, which can only be described as magical. It was lovely to wake up to the sound of the calming water feature and look out on to the little bridge over the pond and watch the fish splash about, catching their morning breakfast. During the colder August nights, we really liked that it was heated just enough to make it a very cosy and heart-warming bedroom. The garden offered many photo opportunities, not only by the stunning water feature/pond, but also many flower arrangements, the sweet looking bench. Also a great place for children to run around and enjoy the fresh air. The food was simply the best I have ever had! From mouth-watering mussels and warm soft bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil right down to early home-made morning breakfast, making this guest house the best place for Eggs Benedict !!! The great menu and calm and relaxing restaurant atmosphere justifies every penny that you will spend on your dinner/breakfast. We will certainly be recommending this to our friends and family, as well as coming back to this Manor Guest House if we are around in that area.'

Manor House Overnight Stay

'I was looking on line for somewhere to stay for one night wtih 4 friends. What I found was a gem of a guest house. The Manor Guest House has lovely accommodation, beautiful surroundings, friendly and helpful staff. Peter, the owner, was in touch before our stay and he was very helpful on many counts. One slight mishap with dinner reservations, partly dut to the fact we were stuff in alton towers car park, but it was no big deal and did not affect our stay. Thank you Peter and staff for making us feel welcome.'

'Great place, friendly, helpful staff, lovely gardens and central, easy to find location only a few minutes from a petrol station. Really good food too. Only minus, they said they would cater for special dietary requirements - but didn't have anything for gluten or dairy free - just the bread. If they'd had some gluten/ dairy/soya free pasta, rice milk, margerine etc (which you can get from any large supermarket) I would have given them a 5!'

Quaint Hotel!
4 stars 4

'I stayed here for only one nigh, but would stay again for longer, if in the area. A very pleasant hotel, with very accommodating staff and owner. A perfectly acceptable room, with good facilities - and biscuits to go with the tea! Only 1 very minor issue, there was no lamp on the desk, so it made it very difficult to see paperwork and map when siting there. A good start to the day, with a plentiful breakfast. 1 minor issue here, only half a slice of black pudding - why?! All in all, a good hotel in the right area, well worth a visit.'

Great stay

'I visited the manor guest house last weekend after a trip to Alton towers with a group of friends. We stayed in the manor stables and I couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodation, location and the welcome. The staff were pleasant and willing to help with whatever query we had. The rooms were spotless and they had even made special arrangements to accommodate the extra person in our group. The added touch of a birthday cake being placed within the stables by the owners for my birthday was extremely thoughtful and made the experience even better. There was a wide choice of breakfast which accommodated for every member of our group and was delicious. I would like to thank the staff at the manor guest hotel for making our stay so pleasant and we will definitely be visiting again as a group'

Brief but lovely stay
5 stars 5

'We stayed at The Manor Guest House in June 2014. The room was very comfortable, clean, and with all the essentials you'd expect. We had a garden facing room with a lovely view over the pond, and as it was such nice weather the evening that we arrived, we enjoyed a cold beer outside as the sun went down. The hotel is in a great location, very easy to find off the M6, and close to all amenities. The full English breakfast was very good, and the service at breakfast was excellent; the owners and staff all seemed very friendly and accommodating. All in all it was a very pleasant, albeit brief, stay.'

'The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent and it is really nice accommodation (particularly the rooms and courtyard). The location's pretty quiet but it was close to Alton Towers so suited us. The only downsides for us staying in the Manor Stables was having just one bathroom (it really could do with another) and no cloths and teatowels in the kitchen. Overall, a great stay!'

'Just returned from an overnight stay at this hotel - made to feel welcome the moment we entered. The staff and the owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. Two nights at the Manor
4 stars 4

'As a family of 5 (including teenagers) in the accommodation for 8 we found the rooms clean, comfortable & spacious. However, we would have found it a struggle if there were more of us as there is only 1 bathroom and we would have preferred an extra toilet. Apart from that, our stay was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome by Ann, Peter & their staff. The food was outstanding and although we planned to eat elsewhere on our 2nd night, we ate another dinner at the Manor because it was so delicious! Ideal location for Alton Towers so we'll definitely stay again if we're in the area. 9/10'

'Stayed for 1 night...wish it had been more. Location great for Alton Towers. Room, The Stables, perfect for us, our daughters and our daughter's friends, plenty of room, great facilities and comfortable beds. TV was erratic with bad signal, but didn't bother us! Peter very kindly decorated our room with banners and balloons for my daughter's birthday, which although was at a small extra cost, was a lovely touch and not something offered by many Guesthouses I'm sure. Evening meal was of good quality and was plentiful as was breakfast...good choice and great service. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. All in all, we would have no hesitation in recommending The Manor to friends and family.'

We have to find the another hotel splitting the family and all - Not happy at all! Our credit cards ( we tried 4 cards) did not worked I believe they may have had issue with credit card payment so our bank did not authorise the transaction!! Rooms and beds are very comfortable and in the morning the food is excellent!'

Accommodation Response

'Good afternoon Thank you for your review. I can quite understand that you were not happy to split your family and I am sorry for this. However I would ask you to recognise that you booked accommodation to sleep 7 persons and in the event you were 10 persons. We might have been able to help you had you let us know in advance, but for safety and comfort we will not have over occupation of our rooms. We process hundreds of card payments every month. It is not us that declines payments is the card issuing bank. We do not know the reason cards are declined as it is solely a matter between you and your bank. I was pleased you enjoyed our comfortable beds which would in fairness have been far less comfortable had you had 10 persons in two rooms. We are also delighted you enjoyed your breakfast. Best regards Peter'

'We have just enjoyed a lovely break away, made all the better by staying at the manor guest house, it was so relaxing at the end of a theme park day to come back to a spotlessly clean room and a lovely garden to sit in. We would most definitely return :D One small quibble, we were in room 5 and the WiFi signal was quite weak which meant our lot were without social networking for some of the time, although it probably did them good to be without it, I did, in all honesty look specifically for a place with WiFi access to keep them happy. It might benefit from a booster. Otherwise everything was just wonderful :)'

'Very welcome on reception, lots of room for parking and the room was clean, modern and pleasent. The only negatives I would say is that the breakfast is only served between 8-9am and when we stayed on a sat night this was a little early until 10am would have been more acceptable. I did pay for the breakfast as part of the booking but upon getting there and learning the times didn't go for it. The double bed was a little small and not overly comfortable. 'The hotel rooms are average but are clean and have everything you need for a short stay. However what made this place worth recommending is the owner and staff. We had missed the check in time but they left the key in the door for us so that we could still stay and wouldn't loose our money and have to book another hotel, and then the following morning we missed breakfast because we thought it didn't finish until half past 10 but the owner cooked my girlfriend and I a bacon sandwich each to take to Alton towers with us! They went out of their way to be accommodating.'

The best yet!
5 stars 5

'We stayed at the Manor with our 10-year old for 3 days this week in order to spend a couple of days at Alton Towers, which is a beautiful 15 minute journey away. Peter, Ann and all the staff were extremely welcoming from the off and made us feel at home immediately. We were booked in with little fuss and, about an hour later, we came down for our evening meal at our ready booked table (thanks to an email from The Manor a few days before our arrival asking if we would like a table kept for us). We weren't pushed to sit down to our meal immediately and first had a drink at the bar - very welcome after the journey we had just had. The food was lovely, and all tastes are catered for, including minor changes to the set meal where necessary. So good, in fact, that we ended up 'eating-in' all three nights although Cheadle does have a couple of other eateries in the town. Our room was comfortable and included a TV/DVD player which helped us to keep our son a very happy boy during our stay. The garden is truly beautiful and the koi-carp pond a constant fascination for our son. Also plenty of car=parking space available - a godsend when compared with other B&B's in the area/. All in all, a very enjoyable stay, and the additional features of the wonderful food in the restaurant and the bar made the Manor worthy of the 5-stars given. My only question would be - why are you a Bed and Breakfast and not a Hotel?'

'This hotel comes HIGHLY recommended. I was part of a family group consisting of 5 adults, 1 6yr old and 2 toddlers and have to say the hotel staff were more than accomodating towards all parties! The hotel was lovely and clean, the gardens are beautiful and perfect for our little ones to run around and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We were off to Alton Towers so the location was perfect, only a few minutes down the road and you are there. I would definately return to this hotel and am just sorry that we did not get chance to write in the guest book to let them all know how great they had been! A* in my book!'

Great solution for small groups
5 stars 5

'Travelling as a group of six adults heading to Alton Towers - we booked the stables which was very nicely set up. We arrived a little late so the hotel had stopped serving food - however they were great at contacting us in advance to ask if we would be eating there or if not they would try to make provisions (we found a Wetherspoons but still it was a very nice gesture). The member of staff that greeted us (Zack) was both professional and polite - also again in the morning when he took the breakfast orders. The hotel is a fantastic little spot in the village and everything is professional, and the staff were great throughout - if we are ever in the area again we'd definitely check availability here first before going anywhere else.'

Perfect Weekend
5 stars 5

'We stayed as a family of 4, for two nights to visit Alton Towers (very easy access to Alton Towers from here). We had originally booked a different Guest House, but after a few bad reports on trip advisor, decided to cancel and look elsewhere. I rang to make the booking and spoke to a very friendly and helpful member of Staff. First impression very good. On arriving after 5 hours driving, the Guest House and gardens were impressive. Our room, a family room with double bed, and 2 single beds, had plenty of room, very clean and comfortable. Nice powerful hot shower in bathroom. All topped of with a beautifully cooked breakfast, Quorn Sausages available for the Vegetarians, set us up perfectly for the day ahead. So glad we cancelled our original Guest House, and had a perfect weekend away. Definitely recommend and will visit again. many thanks'

'The Manor Guest House is a lovely place to stay, the staff are fantastic and nothing was too much to ask for. The owner Peter was very friendly and provided exceptional service to our large party of 14. In particular, he kindly held our dinner reservation when we arrived late on the first night. The food was delicious and fresh at both dinner and breakfast times. We were visiting Alton Towers during our trip and Peter was very helpful in booking a minibus for our group, which saved a lot of organisation on our part, leaving us to enjoy the day out. 'A nice stay and good value overall. On the plus sides, staff very polite and helpful. Breakfast generally good but there could have been more choice eg croissants etc. Small negative points, bedroom decor a little tired, temperature control on shower not working and the only thing that really niggled me was that the noise from other residents flushing the loo in the night wears quite noisy at night. Alton Towers Holiday
4 stars 4

'I live by the advise, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." From the street, The Manor is not what you would expect. A lovely garden invites you to your room. The fish pond is a real treat for the kids. I cannot say enough good things about the wait staff. They treated my family as if we where an extension of there family. The morning breakfast that was included was fantastic! My wife and I enjoyed a few evening drinks in the garden and it was a perfect end to an otherwise exhausting day. The only down side was it was a little noisy when we where trying to put the little ones to bed. With people enjoying themselves out in the garden and getting a little excited when drinking it was a challenge. However, a small price to pay for a very nice holiday and perfect service.'

'On our arrival we were given a very warm welcome by a very polite member of staff, who led us to our room which was modern, nicely decorated and very spacious for the two of us. We stayed here mainly because we were planning a visit to Alton Towers which was actually very easy to find from the guest house, if not a little bit further than stated online. The hotel Garden at the rear of Hotel was fantastic, and could been seen from our room which was a nice addition. The breakfast although slightly limited in choice was of very good quality and the waiting staff were great, again extremely polite / courteous service. If in the area again I would definitely stay here without a hesitation of doubt and I'll also recommend it to friends and family visiting the Staffordshire area.'

'Myself and my husband stayed here for two nights, while on an Alton towers weekend. Which incidentally is about 10 mins drive away. What can I say, BRILLIANT. The accommodation was quiet, overlooking a beautiful garden, with pond. The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing. 10 out of 10 from us.We will definitely stop there again if we are in that direction again.Thankyou all for a wonderful stay.'

Friendly Guest House
5 stars 5

'We chose The Manor Guest House as we had visited before, and it is convenient for Alton Towers Resort. The room was clean and cosy, with a lovely welcome package. The courtyard garden is beautiful - our children loved looking at the fish in the pond. A good night's sleep was followed by an excellent breakfast. However, the very best thing about the Manor Guest House is the staff - very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely stay again.'

'I was very impressed with this hotel. There was a lovely room and shower. It was very close to Alton Towers and the restaurant and bar were simply supurb. Breakfast could be 15 mins earlier for those trying to be at the gates of Alton Towers at "early bird" opening time, but that doesn't change the fact that this was one of the most pleasant places I've stayed in for a long time and is excellent value for money.'

A Very Pleasant Stay
4 stars 4

'Met with a very warm welcome by very polite staff, shown to room which was modernly decorated albeit a little bit small. Stopped over ahead of a visit to Alton Towers which was very easy to find, if a little bit further than stated on Hotel website. Beautiful well kept Garden at the rear of Hotel with Tables and chairs which would be great to sit out in the sun (terrential rain prevented us from taking advantage of this). Very good breakfast with polite service. Situated in very nice little village/town. Great one night stay and would visit again in future. Recommended'

THE MANOR GUEST HOUSE 4.5 OUT OF 5
4 stars 4

'I found the Manor a lovely friendly little place, the staff had time to chat and seemed genuine and friendly, the beds were comfortable and it was peaceful and quiet,if i were to be super critical i would say the TV was a little small and the shower & WC did not have a window or extractor so had a bit of a stale smell and would benefit from a good old dusting session, although neither my son nor my husband noticed so may just be a female thing to check the skirting boards etc! the breakfast was 8am until 9am and it was absolutely delicious, full English with a variety of cereals and juices, i would give it 4.5 out of 5 ( get an extractor in that bathrom) and will definitely come again.'

Annual Towers Trip

'Collated Comments from group - stayed midweek in the Stables for B&B: Positive: - Rooms are really nice. - Food was spot on. - Good value for money - Friendly, attentive owners - good breakfast - excellent location for the towers. - Local Pub and Curry house are also both good. Possible Improvements: - Rooms were a tad warm - missing brush in a toilet shared by six. It should be noted that this was our second year running staying at the Manor Guest House for our Annual Towers trip, and it will be top of the list for next year too.'

A real find
5 stars 5

'We both enjoyed our stay at The Manor, Cheadle. On arrival a young man Rob introduced himself and made us fell very welcome and as if nothing was too much trouble. We needed to move the car to the rear of the hotel and he could not have been more helpful explaining the one way system through the town. Throughout our stay he took an active but unintrusive interest in our wellbeing. Our room was spacious, well decorated and equipped. All the meals we enjoyed and received help with our menu choices when we asked. Every member of staff was informed and what they couldn't answer they enquired about and came back with a reply. It was obvious from the first minute that the establishment was not part of a large group but was run by professionals who cared about their business and their guests. Aspects of it were not 5 star as in grand hotel terms but we had a 5 star experience and would and will recommend this guest house to others.'
