'I was very lucky in happening to get a family room, although staying alone. Very comfortable bed, spacious room with couch; big relaxing bath. I thought the complementary sherry was a nice touch!'

'My husband and I were visiting family for a special occasion and used The Glen for a stopover (as the inn was full at the family houses!) We found Warren to be very friendly and very accomodating. We found The Glen itself to be clean and well kept. The breakfast was superb!'

'A warm welcome, quiet, reasonably spacious accommodation and a high quality of breakfast await you here. Nothing too much trouble, from accommodating our 21 month old - even serving breakfast in our room when she was unwell - to a generous hospitality tray and little extras that make so much difference. Recommended.'

'I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a week long tour of Cumbria for work, and it was amazing! Although I had very little chance to explore the surrounding area the views were beautiful, the bed very comfy and the breakfast delicious. The owners were very nice and even got up early to make me breakfast, as I had to leave before the usual time. Very convenient for the station, lovely pub just down the road for food and Kendal just a pleasant 20 minute walk. Would love to stay again, when not working!'

'I stayed here with my teenage daughter in a twin room and received a very warm welcome. The room was lovely, the owners provide a selection of DVD's you can watch on the tv in your room along with books etc. There is a pub literally 5 mins walking along the road that does a lovely meal. Breakfast was yummy and served with a smile. Wonderful! :o)'

'We had a lovely time at the Glen. Our room was clean and there were plently of facilities. We thought the sherry was a nice touch! The breakfasts were lovely every time and were cooked to perfection. The walk over the helm is well worth it- beautiful views. Thank you for being friendly and helpful hosts.'

'Good quality B&B at very reasonable rates. Private parking was very useful for the bikes. Local pub served good food and was only a short walk away. Hard to fault.'

'Extremely welcoming and very comfortable. Was given an upgrade on my room from single to double which was a complete surprise. The room was spotlessly clean. Every effort has been made to make the guest comfortable and the little luxuries were perfect both in the bedroom area and bathroom. The only downside was that I was only able to stay for one night.Very convenient for Oxenholme Railway station. Have already recommended to others.'

'I arrived quite late, getting off a train from London, and Glen House was perfectly placed near the mainline station. The hospitality and helpfulness of the staff surpassed expectations and reminded me why I prefer local hotels over the chain ones. Breakfast was spot on too!'

'Lovely place, with warm, considerate, thoughtful and welcoming proprietors. Everyhting possible was done to make our stay enjoyable, and our dog was also made very welcome. The surroundings are beautiful, with a lovely pub with great food just yards away. Will certainly recommend the Glen, and if in the area again, this will be my first choice of accomodation.'
