'My wife and I recently stayed at Glewstone Court for two nights, en route from Cornwall. We chose a "superior double room" and had dinner on both nights. In summary, Glewstone was our idea of the ideal country house hotel. The owners were very much "hands on" and we were impressed by Bill's ability to remember the first names of all his guests. The location, in a quiet country hamlet was, for us, ideal. The room was almost palatial in size, well equipped and immaculate. The writing desk looked out through a picture window at the well maintained garden and majestic cedar tree. The bed was the largest, and probably most comfortable, that we have found. The dinners were excellent with a good choice of dishes, using locally sourced ingredients and accompanied by a good choice of wines. Breakfasts were of similar variety and quality. Nice additional touches were the extra supplies of milk and water in the 'fridge on the landing, plentiful local information and the hotel dogs who provided additional company in the bar.'

'From the moment you pass through the gates you are welcomed and looked after as old friends. Bill the hotel owner makes you immediately at ease and ensures he knows your first names, reinforcing the family feel of the hotel, as it is indeed their home. Absolutely no negatives to the stay whatsoever. The food is superb, clearly local and regional in influence and ingredients, well-thought out, cooked with passion and served with pride. We will visit them again, and will recommend them without reserve.'

'It was only mid morning that day that we decided to find somewhere to stay as a stop off to a holiday in Wales. An easy booking on line lead to us arriving at Glewstone Court around 8.00pm.Our host warmly welcomed us and booked us a table for dinner thus enabling us to shower and dress for dinner with no pressure. The inviting comfort of the lounge was an ideal place to study the amazing menu. I was just getting over a bad cold and was offered a hot toddy which was very welcome. Dinner was superb, served in a charming dining room with good service and an attentive host. The wine selection was comprehensive and the whole evening was sheer delight. Our room was gigantic and the enormous bed blissfully comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and we left feeling so relaxed and determined to stay there again. The family enjoy sharing their home and you feel very special being part of a very well planned experience.'

'We have stayed at Glewstone Court about 15 years ago and to our amazement the standard of excellence had been maintained. It was a joy to spend time there and to enjoy a very good dinner with our family. Would recommend it to anyone who likes something a bit different.'

'We had a Weekend Bargain Break which comprised bed, breakfast and dinner. We were given a genuine and friendly welcome from Chris and Bill - they learn your first name and use it, transforming you from their customer into their guest - nice touch. The bedroom, the bar and the lounge were all comfortable and spacious and clean - aiming for comfortable rather than smart, and that suits us. But it is the meals where they excel. They are rightly proud of their Herefordshire produce, and the dinners are of the highest quality. The wine list is imaginative and by no means greedily priced. Breakfast too is freshly prepared and attractive. And nothing is too much trouble - you have a question, Bill makes it his business to get you the answer. And all with cheerful good grace. This place is delightful.'
