'This was our second stay at Spanhoe Lodge. Jennie and Steve made us just as welcome as before. Any requests we made were provided with a smile. We'll be back again. We stayed as members of a car club so the safe off road parking was much appreciated.'

'Son and I stayed overnight, just a short walk off the route heading along the road to Laxton. Accommodation was spot on with powerful warm shower. Good hearty breakfast and pleasant banter from mine host. Well set up for a final day of walking.'

'Nothing was too much trouble to meet our wants from the moment we booked. We were welcomed with afternoon tea and a friendly greeting. The only disappointment was that the excellent dinner on the evening of our arrival was not repeated later in our stay. Breakfasts were the best we have experienced in our travels. We hope to return.'

'We spent the weekend at Spanhoe Lodge with two other couples, to celebrate a 50th. birthday, and also to visit friends who moved to Uppingham twelve months ago. We had a lovely time, made extra special by the warm welcome, the comfortable room, with every conceivable little extra and the superb breakfast. We definitely hope to make a return visit. Thank You.'

'While our stay was only very short, it was most enjoyable. We were well looked after and found the "little extras" in the room very satisfying. The super early breakfast was also much appreciated.'

'This is only our second stay in a Bed and Breakfast. We stayed for two nights. Our room (No 2)was spacious with nice furnishings and a bathroom with bath and shower over, fluffy bath sheets and good toiletries. The breakfasts were really great with a wide choice. Our hosts Jennie and Steve were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The area is beautiful with stunning views. Will revisit when in the area again. Many thanks Jennie and Steve.'

'We really enjoyed our stay at Spanhoe Lodge. Everything was perfect. The only two very small things I'd say is that it doesn't mention a cost online when asking for a cot, but we were told via email almost straight away, and it was a minimal cost. Also, there must have been a strange link or something when I booked as Jenny thought we had requested the room with the walk-in shower which wasn't the most ideal with our baby but it was fine - his first experience of a shower! We would definitely come back and will recommend to everyone. Jenny and Steve were so helpful with directions and even gave our baby a cuddle so we could eat our breakfast in peace!'

'Thanks to Jennie and Steve for their excellent hospitality. The room was lovely, beautifully decorated and kept, and the shower wonderful. Everything we needed was provided along with those thoughtful extras that make such a difference. The breakfasts were superb and the staff attentive and friendly in a very unhurried way that added to the restfulness of our stay. Highly recommended.'

'I couldn't possibly fault Spanhoe Lodge. From the warm welcome we received to the lovely well-appointed room and bathroom to a superb breakfast, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's obvious a lot of hard work has gone into the place so its success is well deserved.'
