'Ian and Craig are great guys, they made our break in Torquay so enjoyable! We have never experienced such a warm and inviting welcome as the welcome we received when we arrived at the Marstan. All the recommendations of places to go and visit, eat at and directions given ensured we have a fab time in Torquay.'

'Having persuaded my wife to accompany me to Torquay to watch AFC Wimbledon on a Tuesday, the compromise was to stay at The Marstan. What a lovely, pleasant and friendly experience it proved to be. We stayed in Room 4, that pictured on the web site. It was spacious with grand furnishings and the most enormous comfortable bed; I can't remember the last time I slept so well. Breakfast was superb; if you watch 3 in a bed, Craig's cooking would top that! Do try their home made granola and yoghurt. Delicious. We were suprised with Torquay, it is a town blessed with many quality restaurants. I would recommend 7 Fish Bistro, 15 minutes walk away. Awesome. I suppose I should mention the football. We lost! My wife said 'Long way to come and lose'. At least The Marstan was worth the journey. We stayed for two nights but should have stayed longer. I would recommend The Marstan.'

We would recommend this hotel for a short stay, the room was comfortable and the location was a short distant drive to the main attractions. Lovely Hotel.'

'Great breakfasts cooked to order; congenial hosts who played the piano for us to sing to and even threw in a yoga lesson! Try the upstairs rooms with baths; heavenly. Opulent sitting and dining rooms as well as a bar. Nothing too much trouble, thoroughly reccommend. Ideal for a lady travelling on her own, romantic couples or those who appreciate privacy, comfort and attention. Thank-you for a great stay!'

'My husband and I enjoyed a 2 night stay at the Marstan. We were greeted with a warm welcome from Iian and served a cup of tea in the lounge whilst completing paperwork. Our room was a standard double with a large shower room which looked almost new. The room was plenty large enough for our needs and had tea / coffee making facilities. The breakfast was lovely and served with a smile from a beautifully turned out lady. We did manage to use the hot tub following a lengthy walk around the stunning coastline, which was wonderful. Having stayed in many 5* hotels / guesthouses, I would say that the Marstan is more of a 4* but this would not stop me staying there again.'

'From the moment we checked in, the service provided by Craig and Ian was fantastic. They booked a restaurant for our first anniversary for us and must have told the restaurant it was our anniversary, as they gave us a special dessert. The hotel itself is plush, clean and very comfortable, and we made use of the hot tub which was ready for us as soon as we asked. We were provided on check in with information about all the places to eat and things to see in the vicinity. The hotel was a short walk to the beach in one direction, and the town in the other. Would highly recommend this hotel.'

'This was our 2nd time at the Marstan and it reminded me of why we went back - the service is 2nd to none. All the hotel staff are warm and friendly and they are especially lovely towards the children. It was great to have an eating out guide for the local area. This hotel is clean, classy and comfortable. My children felt completely at home. We will thoroughly recommend it to others!'

'How refreshing to find a friendly hotel where the owners believe that first class customer service is still important. Craig and Ian made us very welcome at The Marstan and it appears that nothing is too much trouble. The lady serving at breakfast is friendly, very efficient and is able to guide you through the excellent menu. All the food served was of an exceptionally high standard. The hotel is good value for money, very clean and the public areas are immaculate. It is situated in a quiet area but within walking distance of the town and beach. We will definitely stay at The Marstan hotel again on our next visit to Torquay.'

'We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Marstan. On arrival we were greeted with a welcome cup of tea and a chat regarding any requirements we had and suggestions for places to visit and recommendations for reataurants. The decor and furnishings were ideal for such a grand Georgian house and created a homely atmosphere. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for a large comfotable bed. Breakfast was a treat and Craig makes an excellent omlette. We would definitely stay here again.'
