'This is a hotel in everything but name. Found the Kensington by accident after having got fed up with overpriced low value hotels and now go there twice every year. Rooms are clean with shower rooms, digital tv and tea/coffee making facilities and home made cakes. Breakfasts are magnificent with plenty of choice and substance. The owners are jovial,friendly, welcoming people who were clearly born to run a guest house.'

'in Scarborough at the weekend staying at the Kensington.En-suite facilities,spacious room,comfortable bed with beautifully co-ordinated linen....but even more impressive were the breakfasts.Such a variety that you could stay all week without repeating a meal....try the egg Benedictine or the kippers.Home-made bread,jam,marmalade and lemon curd;even home made yoghurts.A truly wonderful exprience hosted by a lovely couple,Joy and John.We shall be going again;the location is good too,very easy to walk to Peasholme Park and the open top bus which takes you as far as the Spa.'

'Joy and John made us feel very welcome. The whole guest house is very clean and tidy, our room was very comfortable. You had a good choice of an english breakfast which was of a very high standard. Joy and John told us of the events in and around Scarborough. They took the time to talk with everyone no matter how busy they were. They are a lovely couple. This Guest House has been one of the best that we have stayed in and we would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in an excellent family run business.'

'I, and my sister, stayed in the Kensington for two nights. The twin room was comfortable and the bathroom excellent - Large shower enclosure,fluffy towels, shower gel and cap provided. The breakfast menu was very extensive and although we didn't sample it all!! - what we had was very good. In addition the biscuits etc on the hospitality tray were home-made - and also delicious. The owners were extremely helpful too.'
