“Simple and effective”

'Simplicity is often beautiful. A welcoming face and a hearty breakfast is all I needed and that's what you get here. I was met and left alone to do my thing within two minutes of arriving in the car park. An innovative and effective plug-in broadband solution in the basic functional room was the icing on the cake. Great value and everything you need for a good night's sleep before a track day. I will be using Donington Cottage again for my next stay.'

'We only stayed in the guest house for one night as a convenient place to catch an early flight. The guest house was all we wanted and more - lovely clean room with en suite and good facilities, including LCD flat screen TV. The guest house was well equipped with a clean and practical kitchen, which we used and enjoyed a meal in the lovely garden! Helen was very kind and helpful and left a nice breakfast out for us as we had to get up early. I would highly recommend. Many thanks.'

'We stopped at Donnington Cottage for 2 nights during a friends wedding weekend and dispite not spending much time in the room we where well looked after. The breakfast is the bit I always look forward to and it wasn't a disappoinment. A comfortable stay and good value too.'

Donington Cottage Guest House - Description

The Cottage is run by the owner Helen who strives to make the Guest House a warm and friendly atmosphere for all her Guests. The property built in the late 17 century, was originally four cottages and has bean sympathetically altered to 7 letting bedrooms consisting of 4 en suite and 3 with shared bathrooms. There is a small Guest kitchen with microwave and fridge in it for those who wish to use it. There is plenty of car parking behind the premises leading on to a spacious garden which our guests are very welcome to enjoy. In the Village there is Church of England, Methodist and Catholic churches. A Museum, Library, Art Gallery, Aero Park, Village Hall, local Cricket & Football matches, Clay Shooting, many walks in open country side, children�s play area and Spital park for the older children. Fishing and Bird watching near by. Calk Abbey ( National Trust )and Staunton Harold within 20 mins drive. Nottingham Sherwood Forest, Alton Towers, Ashbourne, The Peak District, Bakewell Chatworth House and Matlock are about 40 minutes drive. We are just 5 minutes drive from all Major Routes, M1 M42 A50 � M6. Outside the Guest House a bus stop with 24hour service to EMA ( 7 minutes ) also to local villages and towns. E.g. Derby and Nottingham. The buses also pass Donington Park Race Circuit only 3 minutes away, about 20 minutes walk.
