'A delightful stay. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for Susan and Davy. This nwas my second stay at the Sherwood and we are already considering a stay at Easter.'

Great place to stay
5 stars 5

'Every question we had and request we made was seen to immediately. We were treated as old friends would be; Sue is very outgoing and welcoming. The building looks as though it is freshly remodeled and the room was luxurious and comfortable. The bathroom is modern and looks brand-new. Even so, the rates were reasonable. In addition, the neighborhood was extremely quiet at night, even though it is only a 20-minute walk to the heart of Edinburgh. There are shops and restaurants nearby and a laundrette not too far away. The bus stop is right outside as well, only a few steps away. Breakfast was ample. There was a large variety of food to choose from. Cereal, fruit, eggs, milk, juices, coffee and tea, meats and cheeses, and biscuits were all included, as well as pastries. Internet access was available for free to guests all day, and the connection speed was fast. What really shines about this B&B is the owners' care about seeing to guests. I plan to come back to Edinburgh and I would like to stay here again.'

Lovely, comfortable and quiet guest house
4 stars 4

'We had a great stay at the Sherwood Guest House. The guest house is on Minto Street, which is on lots of bus routes. We were up for the festival, and the Pleasance and other venues were an easy walk away (15-20 minutes). We stayed in a very airy, comfortable and clean room. The en suite bathroom was very small, but well stocked and with an excellent shower. There was a continental style breakfast served between 8 and 9. I've given 4 stars and not 5 because I like to lie in on holiday and would have preferred breakfast ending at 9.30 or 10. Also, one of my group was disappointed that there was no cooked breakfast, although there was a wide variety of food on offer. The owners were friendly and helpful, and not at all intrusive. We really liked the attention to detail, and it was clear that thought had gone into ensuring a comfortable stay.'

'The Sherwood Guest House is an excellent B&B to stay for visiting Edinburgh. There are lot of buses that take you to the city centre in few minutes. Our room was very small, but clean and with all kinds of facilities. The breakfast was great! I higly reccommend it!'

Recent stay in Edinburgh
5 stars 5

'Our recent stay at Edinburgh Sherwood Guest House was great! The rooms and beds were very comfortable with great attention to detail – complimentary bottles of water kept in the room each day along with cookies. The highlight though was the breakfast - the best breakfast that we got on our 16 day trip in the UK. Would definitely stay there again and would have no problem recommending this B&B to friends and family. Great value for money given that it was just a few bus stops away from the Royal Mile with the bus stop just outside the B&B ...'

Very nice Guest House
5 stars 5

'We stayed here for 4 nights in one of the Family rooms, which had a double bed and 2 singles for the children. David and Susan were very welcoming and friendly towards us and the children and made them feel at home. It was just what we were looking for in a guest house. The place itself is very clean and tidy, and the rooms are very nicely presented, and the shower in our room was awesome! Breakfast was another treat with everything laid out very nicely indeed. Buses stop right outside the Guest House where it is a short bus trip into Edinburgh no more than 5-10 mins. The bed was a little harder than what we're used to, but managed to sleep fine in it. We would stay again if in Edinburgh, and recommend it to our family and friends.'

Excellent value
5 stars 5

'Our first time in Edinburgh, four activity filled days and a lovely B&B to come home to. Ideally located, within walking distance to city center plus bus stop in front of the house. A cat's spit from Holyrood Park. If you like running you'll enjoy the very scenic 10k. As to Sherwood House, a 10 out of 10. Tastefully decorated room, small but cleverly furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly ask for plus fab breakfast selection plus truely lovely hosts. Very quiet (we had a front room but with windows sound proofed - no bother). No wlan but free internet access in the common room. Glad we stayed in this great little B&B. And since we so fell in love with Edinburgh: We'll be back.'
