Lovely room with a view
5 stars 5

'Our room on the ground floor looked over the harbour and on a sunny day the view was beautiful. Big room, well decorated, and a comfy bed. Enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant. Service was excellent. Would definitely stay there again.'

Wonderful service
5 stars 5

'We had a very pleasant stay at The Boathouse Hotel. The hotel is located just next to the beautiful Breakwater Country Park where you can climb the Holyhead Mountain. The room was very cosy and had a bay view. Breakfast was served by a wonderful local lady who has provided us with tourist information about the countryside!! Highly recommended, would definitely stay again. Wonderful service***** Robert Cz'

'Hotel itself was fine. Room clean, warm and comfortable. Plenty of choice in the resturant and nice selection of beers. The downside, if you want to work while you are there, is that the mobile connection is poor (only a few precise spots where you can find a signal) as is the Wifi. The TV reception is a bit hit and miss as well. However I was assured that was due to the weather (too windy)than a signal problem. Staff very friendly.'

Comfortable, quiet, helpful
4 stars 4

'Comfortable, friendly, helpful. Room small but sufficient. Breakfast would benefit from fruit but otherwise good choice and service. Far enough from town centre to be quiet but easy (10 minute) walk back. Close to coastal walk for South Stack and beyond. I'll stay again if I'm back next year.'

'we stayed for one night before getting ferry next morning. Firstly we got delayed in traffic so I phone ahead and asked them to make up some sandwiches which were lovely. room was cold (extra blankets were on shelf)and carpet was still damp from being steam cleaned. but couldnt fault breakfast (made soft boiled eggs and sausages for my son and our breakfast was beautiful)and lovely atmosphere in bar next day. location perfect for ferry.'

Relaxing
3 stars 3

'Food was great, service was super, employees were fun, helpful and friendly. View and location were wonderful, pub and restaurant atmosphere was lovely and felt like a home away from home. Shower poor as impossible to adjust, bath and shower under-lit, beds were hard as a rock. But despite that we had a marvelous stay.'

Boathouse Hotel
4 stars 4

'In a lovely location with own bar, restaurant and free car park which was great for us especially after a 350 mile drive. However, the walk into the town would have been too much for one of our party had the Hotal restaurant menu not been to our liking. The room was very big and being on the ground floor was a bonus. Clean and reasonably comfortable - the bed was rather hard!!!! TV was difficult to set up but the staff were great and sorted it out very quickly. Great atmosphere, happy, smily staff. Good value for what we paid and we'll return if in Holyhead again.'

Good overnight stop
4 stars 4

'We wanted somewhere to stay the night in Holyhead before catching the morning ferry to Dublin. The Boathouse is ideal for this. The restaurant provides an opportunity for a relaxing evening meal, and breakfast is just early enough to have before leaving for the ferry terminal. Ideal for what we wanted.'

Excellent B+B
4 stars 4

'I stayed at the boathouse as part of a group attending a wedding. The position by the waterfront was beautiful with some lovely walks close by. The rooms were clean and well kept although the lack of shampoo/shower gel in the bathroom was a disappointment - particularly as I had forgotten mine! The cooked breakfast was unbelievable and perfect for the morning after the wedding! The staff were friendly and helpful too.'

Our time at the Boathouse
3 stars 3

'Situated in a beautiful location the Boathouse has friendly helpful staff, we had a meal which was good value for money. Our room needed some work , the catch on the bathroom window was broken and it looked as if someone had tried to punch a hole in the door leading into the bathroom.'

Overnight sray
3 stars 3

'The welcome was adequate. The hotel had a srong aroma of what we thought after some consideration, to be stale cooking smells with an inclination towards the fat fryer. The room was small and had a musty smell, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The food menu was limited, but the crab salad that we both chose was excellent and the ice cream offered was of a high quality. The breakfast was good and served by a lady who brought a smile to your face. The bar facilities were seriously inadequate to cater for residents and the locals who chose to drink in the hotel.'

'We enjoyed every minute we stayed at the Boathouse Hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The room was warm and comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. When our ferry to Dublin was cancelled due to high winds and we were forced to cool our heels for a further two and a half hours they made us welcome to stay in the lounge.'
