'We had a very pleasant bedroom although the bed did squeak every time one moved. The hotel was clean and spacious. The breakfast was excellent and so was the one dinner we had in the hotel. 'My hubby and I, plus dog had a great week in Sutton on Sea, we were blessed with great weather. It was great to be able to take the dog with us. Our room (9)was a good size and had a handy corridor before the bath room, great spot for our dog. The Hotel is in a great position, minutes to the sandy beach and centre of the village/town. We had a lovely time and I dont want to dwell on any negatives. there could be a few minor improvements, fresh fruit and yogart at breakie and maybe porridge (Alford porridge mmm, hash browns instead of fried bread. My hubby a veggie so veggie sausage would have been nice. A change of sheets mid week and the room hoovered, saying that the house keepers are lovely as are all the staff and we had a great time, and we will stay again.'

'I would consider the Bacchus to be decent value for money. Our room was a decent size and provided the essentials. The staff are friendly and welcoming which is a big plus for them and the bar sells decent beer - check out their beer festival if you can. You get what you pay for and this was a decent hotel for a reasonable price'

'A very pleasant, comfortable stay at the Bacchus. The only observations I would make are that we would have liked a couple of chairs in the room to make watching TV easier, the en-suite was very cramped but adequate for us, the toilet roll holder should be re-sited to the side of the WC, there is room, the hot water took too long to come through at the wash basin, a lot of wasted water. Perhaps 'booster units' might be considered within the hot water system to overcome this problem. The shower outlet needs unblocking (Manager advised)'

'Enjoyed our stay although only for one night. We had our grand daughter with us and she was very happy to have her own TV with dvd in it so she could watch peppa pig in piece. 'Have recently stayed at the Bacchus Hotel for 1 night. Must commend all the staff, so professional and curteous. Arrived earlier than anticipated but that wasn't a problem for the reception manager whom was very welcoming and gave us a choice of rooms. Our room was spacious, clean and well decorated. We travelled with our pet dog who was welcomed at the Bacchus. We were able to take him down to the garden and enjoy a cool beer. In the morning rather than leave him on his own he was able to stay with us whilst we had breakfast. Thank you to you all at the Bacchus for such a pleasurable stay. Will highly recommend to all and will hopefully visiting again soon.'

'Once again the staff at 'The Bacchus Hotel' go the extra step to ensure the comfort of their guests. We stayed on this occassion with my elderley Mother-in-Law. A careful scan of the room availabilty found her a lovely spacious room in the quiet area of the Hotel. We choose to take our evening meal in the Hotel and were not dissapointed. The Hotel was very busy with a Wedding but this did not stop the management team still taking notice and care of all the guests. After putting parents to bed my Husband and I enjoyed the entertaiment and bar area!! Breakfast was efficiently served, piping hot and very welcomed. Our room was beautifully clean, well presented and had some sweet little touches that you wouldnt find in a large chain hotel room. We will definately be back with the Children to enjoy the delights of totally unspoilt and uncommercialised Sutton on Sea. 'Thank you to staff for a very pleasant overnight stay at the Bacchus for my colleague and myself, travelling on business. Our suite was clean and comfortable with free, reasonable bandwidth wi-fi. We ate at the restaurant. Our table was sticky, the menu was unexciting, and the starter on the small side, but the main courses were fresh and wholesome and the service, cheerful and attentive. The range of draught beers was more inspiring and the cellar was exceptionally well kept. Breakfast was informal with a buffet and a standard list of hot dishes which came quickly, with amiable service again. Staff were eager to please and went out of their way to help - they were happy for us to hold a small business meeting in the bar after we had checked out. Great value for the price!'
