'Everything was perfect: the stylish interior, the relaxed athmosphere and the kind and helpful staff. Our room (Antarctica) was spacious and really beautiful, furnished with a great attention to detail. The sea view was stunning. This was one of the greatest hotel rooms we have stayed ever. We'll certainly return :-))'

'We did a mid-week stay in the Africa room in April and it was perfect! The room was lovely and the sun was shining, making our sea view gorgeous! We were shown to our room by a lovely lady, who then returned with complimentary glasses of champagne. We opted to have our champagne breakfast in our room, which was also lovely, hot and on time. We loved our stay and would defintely be back. The room was perfect, the staff were attentive and friendly and we were even lucky with the weather!'

'This was a truly special weekend. Right from the reception we received on arrival including champagne welcome drink(!), to the wonderful breakfast and fantastic spa bath in our room (Japan). We were in Hastings for the Half Marathon and had such a wonderful weekend. We both got our best race times, the sun shone and the B&B was a dream! Perfect weekend and we hope to be back again next year! Thanks so much to all the staff for an unforgettable stay.'

'Our second stay at this hotel was just as enjoyable as the first. Great rooms, relaxed, friendly staff, and well worth the cost. They also listen to their guests - I was disappointed on my first visit that they didn't have any higher quality cognacs (my only complaint!) - this time that had a bottle of Hennessy Paradis on hand.'

'What a find! We felt like this hotel was perfect for our mini break/ anniversary. The room was beautiful and spacious and the view was magnificent- even thru the rain! Food served to our room for lunch was excellent, as was the breakfast. We felt thoroughly relaxed after using the 'spa' style facilities in Antarctica and watching great films from the library. Hastings old town is also perfect for a couple of hours break from the delights of the room! Worth every penny. We will be returning.....'

'Book yourself in, reserve a table in the hotel's restaurant (you won't find a better one locally)and chill out in your themed room. Take breakfast in your room, it's served on two visits so the food doesn't get cold between courses. If you must leave the hotel, visit nearby Rye.'

'This is the second time my partner and I have stayed at the Zanzibar international and we are likely to go again. Each room gives you a different experience and view. The staff are welcoming and helpful to the nth degree, your every need is catered for and the rooms are just as described on the website (& sometimes more!). They also have a restaurant which is fully booked most nights, not just by guests, giving you the option of enjoying your stay to the fullest. I have recommend this hotel to friends for any occasion,as the main outcome is relaxation and a sense of being pampered!!'

'My wife works shifts and had to work the day after her birthday so we wanted to get away for just one night and spend the day (15 February) somewhere nice. We eventually managed to book the one night (14 February) at 'Zanzibar'. We didn't want to eat in the hotel two nights on the trot and with a late booking we were never going to get the Pier Nine for Valentines Day anyway. We tried, and very much enjoyed, one of the local recommendations. Back to ‘Zanzibar’. It was heaving. Piano playing the ladies with their roses and the staff running around keeping customers happy. Incredibly busy but an incredible crew. Slept very well in a comfortable room and down for our breakfast in the morning. WOW! Service was excellent, food even better! We had booked a table for the evening with friends and again the food was to die for and the service exemplary. For B&B this hotel is better than excellent and the value for money ratio is off the scale. We rather pushed the boat out for the birthday dinner which naturally pushed the cost up a bit too. An extraordinary place, excellent value and definitely a place we will return to time and again - we want to try the other rooms and the garden too.'

'We booked Zanzibar the week before we went and were so happy to have chosen this place! We stayed in 'Morocco' which was absolutely stunning. The room wasn't too overcrowed with 'things' and the decor was spot on. We felt at home the whole time and were welcomed by staff as soon as we got there, verbally and with some complimentary Champagne! The breakfast was superb and nothing was missing or over/under cooked... The dining room overlooks the sea and the whole room just makes you relax. Exceptional value for money, I can't think of one thing that was negative and will definitely be going back!'

'This is a fantastic boutique hotel on the prom, within easy walking distance of the old town and attractions, make an effort to speak to the elderly guide in the RNLI boathouse, full of wonderful tales. The breakfasts were delicious and the coconut yoghurt served with the fruit bowl, we will try at home. The penthouse - Manhattan suite, has everything you can wish for, an aquarium coffee table meant we spent ages gazing at the fish and the juke box was a treat - we want one, large range dvd's and books available to borrow! Free newspaper delivered to the door along with suggestion of where to go and a local weather forecast. Fantastic sea views, cleanliness and lovely staff make for a wonderful stay - would thoroughly recommend the Zanzibar to anyone. Huge thank you for making my birthday memorable. Tip - ask for a parking permit for the road we did and parked directly outside the hotel. Thanks Pete & Gail'

'My wife and I stayed in the Zanzibar Friday/Saturday night in November and thought it was a fantastic. The room itself (Antarctica in our case) has everything you could need and the shower/sauna was great. The staff were lovely and the DVD library (lots and lots of good DVDs) is a really good idea if you just want to chill out. We had breakfast in the room both mornings and the food was both plentiful and of good quality. We would certainly go back to the Zanzibar if we were in the area again. 'We had such a lovely weekend at the Zanzibar, both agreeing that South America is easily the nicest hotel room we've ever stayed in. The quality of everything from furniture to toiletries made it extra special and it really did seem as if you had thought of everything. Also, the food (both breakfast and the meal we had at Pier Nine) was delicious. My only reservation was the lack of a toilet door. I know part of the room's charm is that it's so open and that one obviously wouldn't want to obscure the window, but even a sliding screen would make a difference. Bathing in front of one's partner seems romantic and decadent, but I'm not sure the same can be said of other ablutions... It's a small point though and perhaps I'm just a prude. We really did have a wonderful time and very much hope to return before too long. Many thanks.'

'Quite simply the best hotel we have ever stayed in. A very friendly welcome from the whole team including a glass of bubbly- just what the doctor ordered after a Friday night on the M25! We were staying in the South America room, which turned out to be every bit as glamorous as the photos show. Massive bed, double jacuzzi bath, and all incredibly clean and tidy. Fantastic nights sleep and an even better breakfast served in our room at a time suitable to us. Brilliant! I had a few reservations about the location before we came due to some other reviews on the internet, but I really can't see what they did?! Perfect seafront location with good parking. The town centre is only 10 minutes away with a good few restaurants to try. We didn't have time to try the new restaurant in the hotel but it looked lovely. 'The attention to detail at Zanzibar was delightful - excellent breakfast food, complementary water in room, complementary paper, exquisite decor. If you are a tad clausterphobic, I'd recommend a larger room than the Moroccon as it is very cozy!'

'We stayed at the penthouse suite (Manhattan) that was one of the loveliest rooms we ever stayed in: very quiet with spectacular view, very modern (high tech) AND romantic room with 2 flatscreen TVs, a jukebox (!) and even an aquarium with fishes, serving as coffee table... Staff was also very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Geat breakfast! Very good restaurants nearby, ask Max!'

'The hotel certainly lived up to it's billing, from the very warm welcome, to the fantastic room (South America) and the great breakfasts. Everything about the Zanzibar made it possible to have the most relaxing weekend. By the way the recommendations for places to eat were amazing - especially the Taj Mahal - you've got to go. Once again, thanks very much.'

'Great hotel, friendly staff, excellent food, fab weather, the only TINY downside was the road noise, it was constant and because the weather was so warm we needed to have the windows open all night, nothing that the hotel can do about it though, comes with the location'

'After arriving later than expected , we had a warm welcome along with a drink ,a quick run through of running of the hotel. Then taken to our 'India' room. What a delight.Breakfast was lovely, what a choice & where to eat it.Nothing was too much bother, even down to directions to a vineyard.Cleanliness & tidiness was on par with a 5 star hotel.Highly recommended. Will be singing your praises.'
