'Stayed only 1 night in this hotel and was disappointed on first sight of the room, which was small, dark and very scruffy. Beds were clean and comfortable though, and the tea making facilities were very good. Bathroom was again scruffy with water marks in ceiling, but overall it was clean, with plenty of towels and free toiletries. Breakfast was fine. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were able to leave luggage before and after check in/out but this was only a cupboard in the lounge which was not kept locked. There is only one small lift and our room was a long walk from it, through several doors, difficult with luggage." 100302,99367502,2007-07-24,3.71,en,Anonymous,,,Good,Fair,Good,Good,Good,Good,Fair,Solo leisure traveller,A friendly reception and open bar when I arrived after midnight!,"My room was very hot and stuffy. The windows only opened a crack and anyway, as the room faced inwards (into the centre of the complex) fully opened windows would have resulted in noise/smell. A fan was provided but this would have kept me awake. So I guess the hotel was aware of the problem. The other guests complained about this too!'

The hotel has 72 indidually designed en-suite bedrooms including standard and premier rooms, with some premier rooms having balconies overlooking the attractive Watt’s Park. All rooms have colour television, radio, direct dial telephone, hairdryer and trouser press together with tea and coffee making facilities. The fully air-conditioned bistro-style restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes from light snacks to a full three-course dinner, together with an excellent and imaginative wine list. Alternatively relax with a drink in the comfortable lounge and bar. The hotel has a superb indoor leisure club with luxury heated pool, complemented by a spa pool to help soothe aching muscles or just to relax and unwind. For the more energetic, have a work-out in the air-conditioned gym followed by a visit to the steam rooms or sauna. The hotel also offers a variety of beauty treatments. Travel Information: The hotel is situated at the northern edge of the inner Ring Road opposite Watts Park and the Civic Centre. It is in easy walking distance of the Central train station and is only five miles from Southampton/Eastleigh Airport. The hotel has no car park of its own and the area at the front of the hotel is for 'set-down' and 'pick-up' only. Grosvenor Square multi-storey car park is behind the hotel and is operated by the City Council and the hotel will reimburse one ticket per room per 24 hours upon production of a valid receipt.
