Set high on Stan Hill surrounded by the South Downs in 35 acres of ancient wooded countryside, Stanhill Court Hotel was built as a family home originally, to the exacting requirements of Mr William Young, a Scottish landowner and marine underwriter with Lloyds of London. A feature of individually furnished bedrooms, many of which have 4 poster beds, all add to the charm of this delightful hotel that is still small enough to care. Our Restaurant 1881 is open to non residents for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You may wish to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea in the Library, with far distant uninterrupted views, or The Patio Bar, which changes the scenery to a Spanish style courtyard. Stanhill Court Hotel was awarded Most Romantic Hotel by the AA and for very good reasons. In Restaurant 1881, the golden wood panelling glows amid the soft colours of the furnishings in the candlelight ~ a coal fire in the winter enhances the atmosphere, but Romance or no, successful business is also discussed at these fine tables.
