'It was of particular importance that there be phone service to Italy to let relatives know of my safe arrival, and I checked at the desk on arrival to make sure I could make this call. The desk clerk said of course I could, although the phone service was actually out when I arrived. When I returned to the desk after having tried to make a call for 20 minutes in my room, the staff responded by simply telling me that the phones weren't working, and to use the pay phone in the lobby. This also was not working, as coins were jammed inside the coin slot. The bartender when approached was kind and helpful, flagging down the (night?) manager to help me call my family. This manager arranged a line at the desk on his own responsibility, and I was able to make a quick call to family. I was astonished at the lack of service, and also of the poor condition of my room and bathroom (see above). I would not stay at the Britannia Country House Hotel again." 200225,97162345,2007-11-21,2.29,en,DEE,Epsom,GB,Adequate,Adequate,Adequate,Good,Fair,Adequate,Poor,Group of adult friends,Basic,no closed space to put underwear,You charge for car parking when I was not expecting it considering I was a lone female and disabled.
