The Star Inn and Restaurant - Description

Initially built in the 13th century and known as 'The Star of Bethlehem' until at least 1520, the hotel was then run by the monks of Battle Abbey who offered shelter to friars and pilgrims on their way to the shrine of St Richard at Chichester. Today's tourist can be assured of an equally warm welcome right at the heart of the charming village of Alfriston. The Star Inn is perfectly located for walking the South Down's Way, visiting Glyndebourne, Eastbourne & Brighton or for taking the Newhaven-Dieppe ferry. You can also enjoy golf, clay-pigeon shooting and horse riding in the area. Facilities include the Capella Restaurant for modern cuisine and a bar serving light meals and snacks.
