Talbot Hotel and Restaurant - Description

Elegant townhouse hotel, 31 en-suite rooms overlooking river or gardens, friendly staff, log fires. The Talbot Hotel dates from the eighteenth century. The 'new' Talbot was the first in Ryedale to be called 'a hotel' and was the town's posting house where coaches stopped to break their journeys from York and Leeds, to Scarborough and Whitby. Each of our 31 bedrooms has en-suite bathroom, colour television, radio, direct dial telephone and a welcome refreshments tray. Many rooms enjoy the view down to the River Derwent - get up early and you can catch a glimpse of the race horses taking their morning exercise along the river banks!
