Castleton - the small village with lots to do. Castleton is located at the centre of Britain's Peak District. It lies 18 miles from Sheffield and 23 miles from Manchester making it very easy to travel to by car via the A6187. We have four beautiful rooms available all year round. All rooms have a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Each room is accompanied with luxury toiletries and bottled mineral water. There is 24 hour access and late check ins can be arranged. Visit the enormous Peak Cavern or perhaps take an underground boat journey in Speedwell Cavern? There are six traditional country pubs in the village as well as tearooms and shops. There's also the state-of-the-art visitor centre. Castleton is also the ideal place to stay to explore the beauty of the Peak District, with Mam Tor (the shimmering mountain) overlooking the village. Everything is within a few minutes' walk from Fern Cottage.
