Situated in the renowned Plaza Mayor, just 150 metres from the Gothic cathedral, the hotel is a former chemists and the mill of the old hospital. The hotel is lavish and the rooms are decorated with bronze beds from the 18th and 19th centuries, completely restored, walnut furniture, valuable antiques and luxury marble baths. The restaurant, Virrey Palafox, is a renowned in Castilla-Le�n, the cuisine is based on excellent, local produce and it has a well-stocked wine cellar. The so-called Jornadas Rito-Gastron�micas de la Matanza has been described as an event of tourist interest. An event, in which thousands of people have come to try the specialties of the region for more than 30 years and is one of the most popular attractions of this establishment.
