If Carlsberg did B&B... 5 years ago
It still wouldn't match up to Penbontbren, where do you start with a review of this place? is it with the warm welcome, or the superb apartments, or is it the wonderful breakfast, or maybe the calm, quiet grounds. It is all of these and more besides.
When we arrived Richard and Huw were off having a couple of days well earned break after a busy season, so we were left in the very capable hands of Carol, who made us feel at home straight away, and for the next 2 days looked after us at breakfast whilst ensuring our rooms were serviced to the highest standard. The breakfasts are a long lazy delight, fresh fruit salad, cereals of all types (including Gluten free, cold meats and cheeses, fruit juice etc. the list goes on and on, endless tea and toast and then on to the main event a cooked breakfast from heaven, again a superb choice (you will have to visit to see the full list) on the third morning I tried the Lavabread, Cockles and Bacon with a poached egg, and it was a real joy.
The apartments are stunning with every conceivable need catered for, really sumptuous furnishings and wonderfully warm.
When Richard and Huw came back they were both a pleasure, keeping us advised on places to visit and where to eat, they will even book the tables for you.
Sadly after only 5 nights we had to leave, but please be assured you arrive as guests but leave as friends, thank you Carol, Richard and Huw, you made a good break great! See you next March. Jan & Stewart.
PS, where is the button for 6 stars?
