We stayed at the Schiehallion during our recent visit to the area to walk the Glen Tilt circuit. We had a very warm welcome and were both very impressed with the modern, clean and well thought out facilities. We also ate that evening in the bar and the fish and chips were faultless! The Scottish breakfast also impressed, particularly the black pudding, yum. We hope to visit again soon.

This was a gift for our friends 50th birthday. They really enjoyed their stay everyone was friendly and helpful, the room was immaculate good size room, large bathroom and wonderful views the whole experience for them was 100%. They would of had a meal in the hotel but the World Cup football was on snd it was a bit noisy and busy but that was to be expected.They will return and enjoy x meal next time and we have decided we will book in the future for a stay too.

I would definitely come back again, our 2night stay wasn’t long enough to enjoy the relaxation. Our hotel room was spotless and the hotel was lovely clean too, so not faults. The bar is the main kinda local reasonably priced. It was really busy the weekend we stayed and we heard nothing from our room. This is a lovely wee hotel in a great position. Rooms were very nice and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was ideal for our night away. The only downside was we could hear the tv and conversation of the couple next doors as there seemed to be little soundproofing. They had their tv on all night. Perhaps you could put a suggestion next to the tv for guests to have this down low if they are watching during the night.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. We decided to eat in the hotel the night we arrived, as it was easier for us, we also ate here on our third night of our stay at the hotel too. The food was fantastic one of us had fish and chips which should have been advertised as 'whale and chips' and the other had ordered one of the pizzas which didn't disappoint. The menu offered a variety of 'light meals' which were served throughout the day, which we had one day and again - nothing to fault.
The breakfast was delicious and had something to suit everyone's appetite. The chef was happy to accommodate even the fussiest of eaters.
Would highly recommended the Schiehallion Hotel to friends and family and will hopefully make a return when we have time.

I bought a hotel voucher as part of a charity lunch 18 months ago and gave it to my daughter. She lost it, then found it and returned it to me to use. Unfortunately it was 1 year out of date by then but the hotel very kindly honoured the voucher even although the hotel is now under new management. Me and my husband visited Aberfeldy for the famous distillery last weekend and stayed in this wonderful hotel. As a tour guide I visit many hotels every year and can truly say this one is a jem. The room was large and very clean and the bed very comfy.The staff were so friendly and wonderful and the breakfast super (for a small hotel). They even had glutenfree musli out and the bar a special gluten free menu! I warmly recommend a stay here.

Stayed for 3 nights as a base to go walking in Glen Lyon and Loch Tay. The hotel is in centre of Aberfeldy with immediate access to local amenities and a great location to explore north Pershire and beyond.
Room was very clean, modern, spacious, warm and comfortable. Large warm bathroon that was excellent to come back to after a day in the mountains and dry off. There is also a boiler room on 1st floor for anything exceptionally wet however even my rucksack was always dry the next day using the bathroom.
Staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpfull and the inclusive breakfast was great. Tasty, filling vegetarian breakfast and delicious salmon and eggs.
Will go back to contuniue my explorations of the Perthshire mountains.

Our group were in the area for our annual weekend of shooting. This is the first time in 14 years we have chosen the Schielallion Hotel, after it was recommended to us by the Hotel Manageress the previous year. We were absolutely delighted with our choice, as we were made to feel very welcome over the whole course of the weekend, from the warm greeting upon our arrival, the friendly bar and kitchen staff throughout our stay until our departure. The rooms were excellent, clean, fresh, well facilitated and spacious. The breakfast was more than enough for a group of hungry men, with a vast choice to suit all. We stayed at the Schiehallion on a friday night late October this year and we were more than pleased with our stay. We stayed in room 1. The room wasblovely and spacious and tastefully decorated but the piste a resistance was the bathroom with a lovely deep bath which was used for a lovely long soak and the pressure from the big walk in shower was awesome. We ate in the hotel and the foodbwas good and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and a special mention to our young waitress who was attentive and being picky veggie she wasbable tonhelp with all my questions. We will definately stay again

Our stay at the hotel was very good. The bedrooms were freshly decorated with comfortable mattresses, pillows and good bed linen. The shower was excellent - plenty of hot water - all very clean. Our room was located on the side of the hotel so was quiet and we had a good night's sleep. The public rooms were busy with locals and the food served on the lines of pub grub - reasonably priced and delicious. Breakfast menu choices were of 5* quality and presentation. Excellent,spacious and upgraded deluxe room was a great start to our stay. Next, the staff were brilliant: welcoming, friendly and engaging, with a genuine 'can do' attitude. Thirdly, the food offer, particularly the breakfast, was possibly the most extensive I have ever encountered and I've encountered a few!) regardless of hotel classification. This is a well-managed establishment that caters well to tourists, walkers, etc, but still appears to be a really 'local' welcoming Aberfeldy residents, too. There is a great buzz in the bar.

My only criticism is that the room was too warm, I had to sleep on top of the beautiful duvet all night. Having said that, my room had 2 windows which I could have opened but didn't want to disturb my son.

We spent 3 night at the Schiehallion. Room (no 1) was perfect, spotless and a huge bathroom. We were a bit concerned at first as it faces onto the main street. Excellent in every way, from the friendly helpful & pleasant staff who were always smiling, the bar man in particular tho rushed off his feet was particularly helpful and always had a smile on his face he was a credit to the hotel. The extensive menu was delicious and portion sizes were superb. The hotel its self is fabulous and the décor is really really nice, we liked the idea of having a sitting room on the 2nd floor for guests to use if they didn't want to sit in their rooms or the bar. If I had one suggestion to make it might be to have 2 chairs in a room, (ideally a couple of tub chairs) we had room 8 where there was only 1 chair and either my husband or myself could use it, I had bagged it very quickly lol, so he had to sit or in his case lay on the bed as there was nowhere else to sit. He says and could you maybe consider adding unsmoked bacon to your menu for those who don't like smoked, a preference of his is for unsmoked. To sum up, we did really enjoy our stay at the hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone who said they were going to be in the area. Will definitely be back, Schiehallion is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, in all our years of travelling around Scotland . Well done to all concerned and Thank You Very Much for a great stay.

The rooms are lovely, decorated to a very high finish, the bathroom was lovely and shower was amazing. The bed was lovely and comfortable, rooms were nice and warm too.
We stayed in the hotel for food and this was nice too, the bar staff were very nice and cheerful. There was nice beers and some local whisky to try, the locals in the bar were warm and friendly too.

When I arrived I was overwhelmed by the quality and comfort the room offered .
My room overlooked the main road through Aberdeldy but the double glazing eliminated any road noise .
The large bathroom was well equipped with a large bath , big enough to swim in ! And a seperate power shower.

We were up as part of a huge event The Aberfeldy Triathlon.
The hotel called twice before hand. Firstly to ask if we were part of the event and did we want an extra early breakfast. The even did a 5am breakfast for one team.
They then called later to ask if we wanted to book dinner as the event meant Aberfeldy would be very busy. Which is was

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this great wee place. Very welcoming staff, a popular bar and eating spot - we stayed on a Tues & Wed and were surprised at how busy it was. Nice selection of well prepared bar meals - in fact much better than your standard bar fare in my opinion. Our room (number 7) was a good size. Nicely furnished, comfy seats and bed. Plenty plugs! I think it must have been a lady who did the designing - a plug and mirror together without having to crawl under furniture! And a decent hair dryer. My husbands top thing was seeing the Celtic game in the bar - a holiday treat! The only fly in the ointment during our stay was the weather - but that is the Scottish summer for you! Schiehallion - we could well be back to see you again :) Thank you for a great stay.

The Schiehallion is a typical small country town hotel, a real gem. The bedrooms have obviously been recently upgraded and are shiny and spotless with good quality linens. The breakfast menu is traditional, and well prepared. We especially enjoyed the smoked haddock.
However, what sets it head and shoulders above the rest is the staff. From when I called asking for an early check in, to their coming to our rescue when we missed our bus they were brilliant, absolutely without question, brilliant!

Fabulous hotel. Older building with tastefully modernised rooms and excellent en-suite facilities. Must be the cleanest room we have stayed in for a long time. Friendly, helpful staff, with excellent food served in the bar and at breakfast. We booked the three nights for the price of two deal which made it excellent value. Convenient for Schiehallion, the Ben Lawers range and Glen Lyon. We will definitely be back.

I had booked the Schiehallion Hotel for a surprise getaway for my fiance. I emailed at time of booking to ask if a bottle of prosecco and glasses could be in our room and they very kindly also had chocolate cup cakes, sweets and confetti all nicely presented on the table in our room. I was more than pleased with this. The room was lovely and spacious, the bed very comfortable and the bath was amazing, enough room for two! I was also impressed with the breakfast. Full Scottish both days. Bacon just the way I like it! The only negative was the lack of sleep my fiance and I had on the Saturday night. Our room is directly above the bar, where there was live music on that night. Apart from that we had a great stay and will definitely stay here again.

We booked the hotel as we intended to hillwalking in Glen Lyon. The accommodation had recently been refurbished and exceeded our expectations. The room was warm and spacious and the shower was worthy of a special mention as it was above the normal dismal standard found in the UK. The bar menu was wide ranging and we enjoyed our three course meal. Our room at the top was quiet even though it was a Saturday night. The breakfast was excellent and again there was a wide selection to choose from. Overall we thought our stay represented excellent value for money.

Despite the kitchen/bard closing on the day we arrived (for a refurbishment) Carol still ensured we were fed and watered to a good standard. The room was as comfortable, quiet and spacious as ever and it looks like the rest of the hotel will finally come up to a standard which does the rooms justice.

We stayed at Schiehallion Hotel for two nights in November - a little break to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel was lovely, had obviously been recently refurbished and decorated in fresh neural colours.We checked in at about 7pm and went down to the bar for a meal. The food was fairly basic pub grub but good and served quickly by very friendly staff. The bar itself was a bit dated, but we were informed that it was scheduled for refurbishment later that month. Breakfast was great and again served quickly by lovely staff. We would not hesitate to book here again, the hotel served as a great base for our weekend, being only minutes walk from the town centre.

Rooms were lovely,clean, modern and spacious. Food was very nice, waiting for our food was bit longer due to it being busy. Beds were comfy. Offered early breakfast or a packed lunch option since we were leaving early. Only down point was the loud music at 1am( we were above bar, wouldn't of been such a bother if we weren't up so early next day) handy having shop, parking and petrol station across the road and also the free wifi. Would definitely stay again

My wife an I stayed for two nights in a premier room and were very happy with the room standard as the rooms had obviously been recently refurbished to a very high standard.
All of the staff we dealt with were extremely friendly and helpful.
Only slightly odd thing to note is that the breakfast/dining facilities are actually in the bar area of the premises which is a little bit odd though the breakfasts were good and plentiful with a good selection available.
At only just under £100 per night we felt that the cost was reasonable - though we were fortunate to have received a free upgrade from the basic room originally booked due to a fortunate coincidence.

We were staying overnight before one of the many sporting events that happen in this area, we had stayed the year previously and returned. This is the hotels 2nd year since its revamp and the accommodation remains clean comfortable modern and of a good standard. We's asked for a quiet room to minimise street noise at closing time etc and that was what we got. The owners have really understood this aspect of the market now - we got a warm welcome and good service the highlight of which was to be a one of the best continental breakfasts I've had in years, and at 4 o'clock in the morning - the staff having stayed up all night since the bar closed to prepare it - they were still cheerful and happy to help - We had a great weekend. My sisters and I together with our respective partners stayed at the Schiehallion for a weekend recently. The main reason for our stay was to visit our mother who lives in Aberfeldy and was celeberating her 80th birthday during the weekend. Well what can I say about the Schiehallion. Well from the pleasant and helpful welcome, through to next morning's good breakfast and then leaving, our stay was comfortable and pleasant. The rooms are to a very high standard, bathroom is massive with a large walk in shower and all is spotlessly clean. We ate in the bar, with the food being spot on and washed down with a nice hoppy beer - Ossian.All in for the price, one of the best places we have stayed at in recent years.

We wanted a small town hotel that was comfortable and had a local town bar atmosphere in the evenings. Schiehallion delivered both and didn't disappoint. A nice touch was the guests' entrance to the bar through reception. A varied menu at reasonable prices for dinner and plenty of choice for breakfast. We can recommend the local Schiehallion lager - but if you only ever drink Stella this ain't for you! Much more of a light coloured bitter, served at cellar, not fridge, temperature. All bar staff friendly and attentive and service faultless. Room recently refurbished but the only improvement would be somewhere to hang damp coats and put muddy walking boots. Aberfeldy is an unspoilt town yet has everything you would expect including a Co-Op, curry house, Tourist information and a lovely art deco cinema called 'The Birks'. Think Cinema Paradiso! Good centre for touring and walking. Do the Birks obviously, and don't miss Glen Lyon and the tea shop at Bridge of Balgie. Perhaps one of the most remote and beautiful places in Britain. The Dewars Distillery tour is fascinating and leave enough time to chill in their expansive bar and coffee shop. we would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a chilled out break in the highlands and we will definitely return.

As the title suggests an enjoyable stay in a lovely hotel with good evening food & very friendly staff, disappointment was noise level from live music within the bar until 12pm, this being said they did drop the volume level around 11pm but still far too late for young children, especially as one of them had a competition the next day meaning an early start. Would definitely recommend for a couple but not anyone with a young family. Very accommodating with breakfast, opening early to accommodate our early start but unfortunately far from the best cooked breakfast I've ever had, should have copied the kids and had cereal & fruit. We enjoyed are stay at the Schiehallion Hotel. We had a great dinner and breakfast, the room was comfortable and had a great shower. Although in our room the Wi-Fi signal was not available (we had a room on the top floor in the corner), we enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend it to others.

We stayed for one night as we needed a central location for a reunion. The reception is around the side of the pub and you buzz to be seen to. The hotel is a staircase up (didn't see any lifts but there may be one). The guy who checked us in was informative and professional. The room hotel has clearly been modernised and the rooms overlooking the street are quiet due to the double glazed sash windows. You can't hear the pub below either. There are small lobbys on each floor for sitting and devouring the fruit and glacier mints. Breakfast is in the pub below and the food is surprisingly good (it looks a bit rough but the bacon is smoked, the sausages high quality and top notch Orkney black pudding). Continental breakfast is enough to fill the belly of the non-traditional. The sofa bed was big and our little daughter loved it and, after the local air, slept like a log. We would certainly stay here again and would recommend!

We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant where the staff were very helpful. The rooms were magnificent and of a very high quality finish..I would say that the decor and general ambiance of the bar/restaurant area doesn't match up to the beautiful bedrooms upstairs.
I was a bit disappointed that no breakfast was available until 8 am but understand this was due to staff shortages. The prepack breakfast was quite poor (it wasnt what we ordered either) There is little point in giving a poridge pack to people travelling with no water/microwave!!
Having said that it was easy to get bacon rolls next door and it didn't really detract from a very pleasant stay.

My name is Robert Hunter and I stayed in the hotel as part of a church rambling group. Prior to staying in the hotel I was allowed to have a look in the rooms by the manageress, ( who by the way was most helpful at all times )I was so impressed that I made sure I was in the hotel, as part of the group were in another one close by. I thought a great deal of effort had gone into the furnishing and design, although I did not like the hand basin as it did not allow water to run back into the sink, but that is such a small point. On returning I told a friend who was all ears as she knows the district well and the hotel.I took photos of the hotel in June but unfortunately deleted them or I could have shown her the decor. I just stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. The room is quite good and ample enough for four and well decorated too .
There are quite a lot of places for dinner around what surprises us considering Aberfeldy is a small place.
But....
-there isn't a lift, what's not mentioned at the moment of booking the room
-there is not even a very simple shelf in the toilet to place the toileteries things. The one there is for the things provided by the hotel.
If the curtains are open ,everyone can see you from the outside( at least in our room) what means they must be always close to have intimacy. Just a simple sheer curtains would solve the problems.
Breakfast was good but the breakfast room-pub? needs an overhaul, mainly in the toilet

We arrived in Aberfeldy after a 21 mile walk across Schiehallion so were quite exhausted. We received a very warm welcome and refuelled in the bar. I had asked the hotel if they could do something in the room as a surprise, when we got there they had upgraded us to the deluxe room at no extra cost. Fabulous place and very friendly staff especially the bar man who made us some deserts after the chef had left for the evening and bought them up to our room xxx

Room number 1 is a lovely large room and the bed is very comfortable. Guest should however be aware that noise from the bar does travel up so if you need an early night ask for another room. The noise does stop promptly at midnight however.

Our twin room was tastefully furnished, immaculately clean and well presented. The large en suite was beautifully tiled and spotlessly clean and had a great shower. During our stay the weather wasn't very good but our room was warm and welcoming. There was a plentiful supply of biscuits etc. on the tea tray and nice toiletries in the bathroom. My only small grouse about our room was the bedside lamp which was not bright enough. I wasn't able to see to read my book in bed at night. All the staff we met were pleasant and helpful.

Stayed here in order to ride the fabulous Caledonian Etape bike race from Pitlochry.
Only had a very brief time in the hotel as had to be up very early on Sunday to get to the start on time - breakfast was rushed (by me, not the staff!). Room was very nicely equipped, clean and finished to a high standard. Bed very comfy. A bit of noise from the bar below late at night though (a bit more sound proofing perhaps?). Staff (Chelsea) was very helpful and friendly. Would certainly stay again - might be back next year!

....this was my return visit and as such an opportunity to indulge in some of the local activities that I had identified on my first pass. With a walk completed up the Birks Of Aberfeldy on Friday afternoon I had eyes only on a decent meal and a comfy room for the Friday evening. In fact, the food was fantastic local fare in good size, great presentation and freshness. After a solid fill I returned to the room to freshen up but confess that Room 1 was of such a high level of comfort and quality that all my evening plans were shelved and I had one of the most comfortable nights of my travelling career. Come Saturday morning it was a small walk to liaise for a session of white water rafting before finishing the short trip with a hearty lunch back at the Hotel. All in all, I must say the quality and comfort was 'pound for pound' well beyond expectation. Given my social nature I found the central location and proximity to all the sights and facilities, I sought, a complete treat. I have no hesitation in giving 'ScH' the top mark and would say to any prospective visitors : bring your verve, energy and imagination and take part --->for THIS is Aberfeldy at its best,

This was our first overnight stay in this area even though I have passed through the area a few times before. The exterior of the hotel caught my eye and on investigation the positive online feedback led to me booking an overnight stay. Top marks in all departments!!! Clean, modern rooms, excellently furnished and warm. Even with the snow outside the welcome and subsequent evening entertainment proved to be a real winter warmer. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to everyone. You will not be disappointed.

Nothing was too much trouble.The food was of a very high standard-the breakfasts excellent, almost too much to handle! We booked a trip away for our grandparents for their birthdays, on the valentines offer. We then had to change the booking after a bereavement in the family and yet Scott and the team could not have been more understanding or welcoming and moved it for us to another weekend without losing out!
When they arrived they were treated superbly and felt like they were being very spoiled.
In advance Scott had let us know that there would be a ceilidh band playing,in case this wasn't to their tastes - but it just added to the great time that they had there. The rooms/food/service - all of it... fabulous!

My partner and i went away for a short break and found this hotel. It was a fantastic deal the room was very spacious and clean and the dinner was lovely. The one small thing would be the breakfast took a long time to come out and people who came down after us was served first and it was a bit cold. Otherwise we had a really lovely stay and highly recommend it. Its in a ideal location for walking and checking out little villages.

Travelling up from Dunfermline and looking for a solid base to venture into the cultural and scenic delights of Aberfeldy and surrounds I happened upon the newly opened and superbly/centrally located Schiehallion Hotel. Given the impact if its name, they should aim and achieve the heights - AND SO THEY DID! Service par excellence, a breakfast I would travel back for, fresh, modern, bright and airy. It is excellently hooked up (or isolated from -- your choice)to the bar for a well deserved evening aperitif after walking 'the Birks'. I look forward to dining on the next visit with a work party and pressing 'SH' 1/5 remaining rating. This is left hanging out there whilst I see how the evening dining gets integrated into an already busy bar. If the first visit is anything to go by.....it is just a matter of time,
