Did much more than tick the boxes 1 year ago
15 Woodside ticked all our boxes for an excellent B&B: a comfortable, warm room on an attractive, quiet street, tasty and healthy breakfasts with good coffee, and a powerful shower.
But it did much more than tick boxes. Lorraine is charming and hospitable, but unobtrusive, and her house is beautiful, with interesting features (mouldings, tiled floor, stained glass) and tasteful décor. The location was perfect for us, close to Kelvingrove Park and Museum, very convenient for restaurants on Argyle Street, and not too far for a walk into the city centre. We stayed in the Charles Rennie Mackintosh suite, a huge room with all we needed, including lovely sofas to relax on after dinner and watch DVDs from the large selection provided. We stayed for four nights and enjoyed every minute.
A note for Rennie Mackintosh lovers. Please don’t miss the stunning Mackintosh Church (Queen’s Cross), which you can reach by a lovely riverside walk, but do check the opening times first.
